The property was absolutely perfect for our get together with friends and dogs. Whilst COVID restrictions limited our party size to 6, it was definitely spacious enough for 10 or more and it was extremely well appointed and very clean. We were blessed with glorious sunshine for the week we stayed so took advantage of sitting on the decking enjoying the evening rays and sipping a cold glass of something. There were numerous beach, forestry commission land, and field walks within easy reach, plus great pubs, towns, villages and national trust properties close by. Cragside NT gardens and Dunstan Burgh English Heritage sites are definitely worth a visit and both are dog friendly. Glanton hamlet is a rural and restful ‘get away from it all’ location.
Our only disappointment was that the details had said the accommodation was soundproofed from the pub noise below, and sadly, this was not the case for the majority of the bedrooms. Whilst the kitchen, lounge, and master suite were indeed sound insulated, the 4 other bedrooms along a corridor, were not. This was not an issue most evenings, however on Friday and Sunday evenings there were some very noisy parties which made sleep a little challenging.
Notwithstanding this small gripe, we would return in a flash, we had a truly wonderful holiday and would like to say a massive thank you to Lisa!
