Unexpected Issues
Overall, the property is newly renovated and pretty much as described. I was disappointed, however, when we arrived after an 11 hour drive and found no keys in the key box. I immediately called Wendy, the owner, who was most responsive. However, she was in Texas and it took a bit to get a response from someone in the area. Not only were the keys not where they were supposed to be, but the key code box on the door wasn’t working and needed to have its batteries replaced, so just using a code wasn’t an option either. We never spoke with anyone from the property management company as it was after hours. A person with Wendy’s cleaning company managed to get the code panel on the door fixed. The key situation was confusing. Other issues: running the hot water created a strong sulphur smell, even after following instructions to alleviate it. This smell continued throughout the week any time hot water was used. Also, the balconies on the condo were filthy. The view was not wonderful but I still wanted to sit outside and the chairs and concrete were just too dirty. Finally, the TV certainly did not behave like any dish satellite tv I have ever encountered, especially in the living room. We lost the internet repeatedly. The building itself smells musty and is dirty-again, not something over which Wendy has control. The beds were comfortable and the amenities were all there. However I will not stay there again due to the age and condition of the building.
