From the moment I stepped into the cabin, I felt welcomed and content. Every amenity was available and in perfect working order. Pete (the owner) was always available for every question and request, and prompt with his answers. Our stay was late in the season, so dock had already been pulled, but that is the norm for lake cabins, especially when temps near freezing. Our timing of the stay afforded us nearly absolute solitude, I never saw a single person on any of the beaches, which gave me the feeling that it was all mine, if only for a short stretch in time. Note to those who want to kayak or paddle-board across this beautiful lake: if it's particularly windy out, make sure you have experience at maintaining balance and direction, because you are in for a fight. The lake has a current, near the middle, that can make attempting to get across to the inlet leading to Lake Michigan, particularly difficult (1 hour plus, versus 10 minutes in calm conditions). For the less adventurous, you can drive up a nearby road and climb a small dune to access lake Michigan as well. Pete thought out his cabin, making sure everything a guest needed was included. I loved it here, and only feel saddened because our stay has come to an end. Next summer, I'll be back for sure. Bring your family, this is the perfect place!
