I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with my recent stay at the Hilton Garden Inn in Buckhead, Atlanta, an experience that was far from the high standards I have come to expect from your esteemed brand. As a loyal Hilton Honors member and a frequent guest at your hotels ( I am also a meeting planner), I am deeply disheartened by the series of unfortunate events that transpired during my visit.
Firstly, upon check-in, I was informed by the front desk associate that a security deposit of $75 per day for incidentals was required, which would be refunded 7 days post-departure.
Your fine print reads: "Government-issued photo identification and a credit card, debit card, or cash deposit may be required at check-in for incidental charges". I provided my Government -issued photo ID and prepaid my stay. I am happy to leave a credit card but the policy says"or" not and. Also, you never mention the outrageous $75 fee per day at any time during the reservation process.
As someone visiting for medical appointments rather than leisure, I found this policy not only burdensome but also perplexing. Providing a substantial interest-free loan for 11 days to a well-established corporation like Hilton, with a market cap of $60 billion, seems unreasonable and unnecessary. This policy should be transparent at the time of booking, and alternatives should be available for guests who may not be able to afford such deposits.
Additionally, the physical state of the property was alarming.
