Cozy Getaway with a Heavenly View
We spent three days at Valley View this past weekend for my 57th birthday (my husband, son, son and daughter-in-law, and two dogs and I ) Wednesday and I’m honestly kind of sad that we had to leave because it was one of the nicest getaway cabins that we’ve ever stayed at! The Cabin itself is just stunning. All the porches face such a gorgeous view! Everything you could possibly think of that you would need was provided and more. The decor is cozy, so many beautiful touches. Very high-tech as far as TV, Soundsystem, Wi-Fi, appliances, and lighting. Instructions were very clear and everything was very clearly marked. The cabin was extremely clean and the beds were some of the most comfortable we’ve ever stayed on, including the pillows and linens provided. We spent a lot of time on the top porch or sitting in the beautiful eight person hot tub. (To be honest, hot tubs usually gross me out, but this one was so extremely clean!!) We brought our two dogs, and I’ve never had a cabin provide so much for your pets and make them feel so welcome. From multiple dog beds to bowls, treats, and poop bags, everything you could possibly think of that you might need. I can’t rave enough about how wonderful this place was! We try and book a cabin every fall and usually try to pick a new place to explore, but I have a feeling we will be coming back to stay at Valley View because we all loved it so very much! I was sad to leave today and wish we could live there!

Great house!!!
Second summer in a row that we stayed at Valley View and we have loved it both times! Gorgeous views and lovely furnishings. The house is stocked with everything you could need. We will be back for sure!

Great house in the Lost River valley!
We really enjoyed our stay at the Valley View House. The house is gorgeous and has amazing views. The property had everything we needed for a wonderful long weekend visit including soap, shampoo and condiments. The hot tub was huge, and all the furnishings were lovely. We would love to stay again sometime in the future.

Time away
We enjoyed the home. Even though this is a dog friendly home there was no hair or smell anywhere. The home is comfortable and has nice view. The kitchen has everything needed and the hot tub is huge.

Ahhhmazing stay…
Enjoyed a impromptu weekend away for my husbands birthday. We enjoyed the screened in porch, comfy couches, hammock for reading, and hello fully stocked kitchen with sharp knives, not kidding about the knives part, both coming from a culinary background we typically travel with our own sets, no need for them at Valley View. Lots of things for kids to do locally. Dog friendly house was a bonus for our house hipppos. Booking again for a spring stay! Absolutely loved our time at the cabin!

Relaxing mountain retreat
This property has amazing views and amenities. The host's attention to detail was amazing. He even provided spices, coffee, and snacks for guests. The property has beautiful mountain views and is quite secluded. There are other properties nearby, but they aren't visible from the house. The linens and beds were incredibly comfortable. The host also provided a great selection of books and games that are available for guests. We always bring our dogs on trips and were happy to see the accommodations that he had left for them as well!

Visit with family from Germany
There is a beautiful view from this home and it is in a very quiet setting. The top floor houses the living/kitchen/dining area and is very spacious with walkout to a large deck as well as very large screened in porch. We spent most of our time together on the top floor. Our 2 dogs enjoyed the space as well.

Three Day Vacay on the Mountain
This place was clean and nicely decorated. Lots of thoughtful touches like water bowls, treats, and towels for your furry friend and a deluxe anti-fatigue mat on the floor at the kitchen sink. Beds were super comfortable and the hot tub had lots of jets. There were party lights in the screened porch and all around the exterior on an automatic timer. We delighted in watching the Strawberry Moon rise which seemed perfectly framed from the living room window. The kitchen had many appliances, chocolate, coffee, and yummy snacks. We enjoyed watching the fog burn off the mountain in the morning and were thrilled to see an Indigo Bunting and Ruby Throated Hummingbird. The property manager was very helpful and responsive. Internet was fast, as was promised and we had no problem streaming shows from our computer. The screened porch was lovely with breezes, even on a hot summer day. We enjoyed half price burger night on Tuesday at The Lost River Grill and hiking at the nearby Trout Run State Park.

Amazing weekend getaway
This cabin was absolutely amazing! We first pulled up to it at night and were completely blown away by how great it looked as soon as we saw it! We quickly went around exploring everything and fell in love with it immediately. All of the spaces are perfect, the view is unbelievable, everything we needed and more was there for us to use, and the hot tub was the perfect way to relax in the chilly weather. This cabin far exceeded both of our expectations and we can’t wait to come back some time!

A perfect relaxing getaway!
The place is very clean, has everything you could ever want, and on the top of the mountain with absolutely no noise. The driveway is very steep so we had trouble getting up but otherwise we did not want to leave. The hottub was huge, the balconies offer views galore, there were slippers, blankets, coffee, spices, hammocks, etc. We saw a family of deer at night walking around the driveway. We could hear the water in the river flowing and cows in the morning. A truly relaxing perfect getaway for anyone that needs undisturbed family time;) will definitely be back.

Clean, Beautiful and Fun!
The house is stunning and was great for a big group girls trip full of cooking, lounging and hanging in the hot tub. Maxwell was super attentive when there were any questions and made sure the house had everything we needed! Between the porches, the comfy living room couch and the insanely large hot tub, there were tons of different places for everyone to hang out together and have a fun weekend! There isn't much close by so definitely come prepared with food, but for a weekend of staying in this house is absolutely perfect!

Best Stay in Lost River!
Hands down, this was our best stay (of many) in Lost River! From the special welcome sign and unique birthday touches to the Christmas tree, we were thoroughly satisfied with this cabin. Oh, and did I mention the 8-person hot tub?!?! This property has the best view on the mountain and is clearly regularly cleaned and maintained. Prior to departure, we were already planning for a return visit. You'll be glad you rented this property; it's magical!

Our Escape from DC
This home was one of the best homes we’ve ever rented! Cannot say enough about how clean, organized, well-furnished and well-stocked it was. The owner made us feel right at home with a welcome message and a fresh bag of coffee beans for the French press. We enjoyed the views from the bedroom and the kitchen/family room. The hot tub was amazing. We really liked being away from the city and this house and location were exactly what the doctor ordered. We will definitely be returning!

Wonderful mountain retreat
We had a fantastic time at the Valley View house. The views are amazing and the hot tub is huge and inviting. We couldn't have asked for a better weekend. All the amenities, cookware, and incidentals that you can think of are provided for you. And the shower and bath products are high quality.

Amazing Views
Views, views, views! Whether you’re inside the house or outside, you’re surrounded by picturesque mountain view overlooking a valley. We spent our family Thanksgiving at the Valley View house and had an amazing time. The property is in a private community surrounded by nature with neighboring homes far enough to give full privacy. The house is clean, exactly as described in the listing, and is well stocked for a family trip. There are three good size bedrooms (king, king, and queen) with great views, access to a deck (each floor has a deck) with each having its own en suite bathroom. The sunrise views are stunning! The open concept kitchen and living room on the top floor can comfortably accommodate a larger family (there’s a dining room table seating 8), and the top floor deck boasts the best views! The host, Maxwell, was extremely responsive and easy to communicate with and made great suggestions for hiking and local shops to check out. Overall, the Valley View house is a beautiful property and we look forward to coming back!
