Beautiful property in the jungle. Everyone enjoyed the swimming pool. The house was clean and had everything we needed. Patricia was so helpful in coordinating our excursions, the in house Chef Service(we highly recommend) and our transportation from the airport to the house and then our car rental delivery to the house. Villa Ambiente was magical

What a piece of paradise! So many things to see/do in the area. The infinity pool was a lifesaver with the kids as they were never "bored". The food in the area was outstanding. Grocery store was close and their meat was phenomenal. Everything about this vacation was more than I could have hoped for...including the host. She helped with everything, booked our excursions, our chef, who I highly recommend (Pedro). A vacation all 16 of us shall remember until our last day.

Disappointed

To preface this review, the property is beautiful. A gorgeous, open air Spanish Villa style house with a great view. But the inability to deliver basic utilities spoils that quickly.During our one week visit we lost electrical power twice, meaning no air condition in a hot and humid atmosphere. Each lasted about 2.5 hours, one at bedtime, one early in the morning. The host’s booklet said we might experience “brown outs” and if it lasted more than 15 minutes, to call her, so apparently this is an issue.More troublesome is the fact that we lost all water on two occasions, the last time on the day before we were to leave meaning no showers after a long hot day, and no showers before we left to travel home the following morning! We attempted to contact the host repeatedly on several occasions to address the problems, with multiple texts, and with direct calls. She would not respond to texts or answer the phone. Only after several unanswered calls and some hours later would I get any kind of text. It got to the point we had to use buckets of water from the pool to flush the toilets. This house is two miles up a semi steep dirt road so maybe delivering utilities is difficult. Not my ideal trip and I would not re-visit this property.

Surpassed All Expectations

Wonderful trip!! We brought 13 family members and it was great for all ages. The home was stunning and taken very good care of! The pool was so lovely.Patricia the property manager was a rockstar! Incredibly helpful setting up outings, always responsive, and very helpful on all recommendations.We went on three excursions, horseback riding, a catamaran dinner cruise, and an ATV tour! All were so awesome! The kids just loved all of them. We also hired Chef Pedro and his mother Lorena to make dinner several of our nights there, and OMG, worth every single penny! The food was out of this world.Highly recommend this place! We would definitely go back!

Exceeded Our Expectations

We had such great experience. The Villa Ambiente was beautiful, secluded, but easy to get to the beach and shopping. We liked it so much that we spent a great deal of time relaxing there by the pool.

Family Thanksgiving Trip

The property manager was very attentive and responsive. The property was clean and well maintained with spacious rooms, nice patio and deck views of the surrounding areas. The kitchen and laundry facilities were satisfactory for the needs of guests. The pool and rear deck area allow for maximum viewing and recreational use. Would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for the perfect getaway.

What a great trip!

Our stay at Villa Ambiente was absolutely wonderful! There was a group of us celebrating my birthday and it was the perfect place to stay! From the moment I first chatted with Patricia, until the very end, she was so helpful, responsive, and kind! All of her referrals for the chef, Chef Pedro, to the massages by Angelica, so the adventures we took, were spot on! The house is just as pictured and the location is great!every person who stayed at the Villa left feeling extremely satisfied and full of happiness. We will stay here again! Family Reunion Tico Style

The Villa Ambiente worked out to be a perfect location for our family to enjoy both a reunion and a celebration of our 50th Wedding Anniversary.There was lots of room for all of us to hang out without being on top of each other, and the pool was a great hit with the 6 children. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen well stocked, and the environment was outstanding. The Villa is a real gem and we are so glad that we found it.

Family Vacation

Incredible family vacation, from the start Patricia was fantastic making sure all our needs were met. She arranged our chef Pedro: he and his staff prepared the most delicious meals, and secured our excursions. The house exceeded our expectations, with 17 of us, 10 adults and 7 children there was plenty of room for everyone. The open air floor plan and pool provided all the space and entertainment that a family our size needed. The views were breath taking with daily visits from parrots and toucans along an occasional visits from monkeys. The location and region of Costa Rica is all you need, from convenient shopping to a variety of restaurants. Many thanks to Patricia and her staff, we are already discussing plans for our next vacation at Villa Ambiente.

We had an amazing time! The property is beautiful with a stunning view. The individual suites were perfect. We were able to see a lot of wildlife & hear the howler monkeys each day. Great family vacation

We had an amazing time staying at the villa. The housekeeper Kris was great and kept the place clean, Giorgio there groundskeeper cleaned the pool and make sure any necessary repairs were done quickly, Patricia was great at planning the excursions. If you stay here make sure you ask for chef Pedro. He is an amazing chef we hired him for all breakfast and most dinners. It was worth the money. The food was amazing, the cleaned up before and after dinner. The experience was magical.

Dream Wedding

Our daughter wanted a destination wedding to Costa Rica and gave us 3 months to plan. We are from Alabama. Patricia is AMAZING! She connected us up with the most amazing people: photographer, guitarist, violinist, makeup artist and chefs. I read all the reviews before booking the villa. We rented 3, 4 wheel drive vehicles. All the reviews said the hill is worth it once you arrive at the villa. It is FANTASTIC! Once you open the front door you immediately know you are in a special place:) We also went on excursions that Patricia can help you plan. We went zip lining and I am not brave. It was awesome. ATV excursion, the newly weds went canyoning/waterfall repelling, kayaking, surfing and we reserved horseback riding but it rained that evening. Also, we chose to drive from the San Jose airport. It was 3 1/2 hrs but mainly because you drive slower. The highway was fine. If this helps our daughter thanked us for her DREAM WEDDING! PuraVida❤️

Amazing location

We had thirteen friends for a week here. The property sits up on the side of the mountain in the canopy of the jungle w/wonderful species of tropical plants, birds, monkeys, and a great view of the Pacific Ocean. Patricia is an amazing planner she helped us with all our excursions (ATV tour, ZipLine), a massage day & transportation, our driver Edgar was great, very accommodating and informative. We had two days of in house prepared meals (food of your choice from a local menu), our chef Pedro and his staff were great. Our stay at Villa Ambiente was a memorable one for all of us. Many TXS.

Jungle living at its finest

We had a fantastic day. Patricia was very responsive and took care of our every need. Our only concern was the possibility that our 20 passenger 2 Wheel drive bus would not be able to make it up the rough mile and a half road to the villa in a downpour, but we were lucky and it was never raining when we were riving.. Four-wheel drives are definitely recommended. But staying in such a quiet bird filled paradise made the extra effort to get up there more than worth it.

**Serious issues, not worth what they charge. Lots of other options in the area.***

The ad is MISLEADING as to the condition of the house and the view. The house is old, tired, and not being taken care of. On arrival it was dirty and not cleaned properly. Dirty floors, and the kitchen smells like rotten fish. Dirty dishes left behind. Cabinets were cleared out of any kind of pantry items. The pots and pans are garbage and scratched up. No wifi until the 2nd day of our stay that was on and off. No propane for the BBQ, and then ran out of propane for the stove, with no spares. Broken appliances- drink fridge and fans. The only TV in the house is in the living room with no services. Bedrooms are dated, in poor state, with views blocked by bush and trees. The master bedroom seen in the ad (2nd level with the only ocean view) is only available at extra cost that was not mentioned prior to heard from the pool deck. The “Ocean View” in the VRBO pictures dated and inaccurate. There is barely a view of the ocean as trees and brush have grown since blocking 90% of the view. The pool was broken about a foot below level and not filtering as a result. Over 10 days it became disgusting. It was never fixed. All furniture is old and broken down. No beach equipment. Water pressure is on and off, and shut off for 5 days by manager trying to fill the well. Wasn’t able to shower several days. The house next door is a garage with banging, grinding and barking dog all day. Random people walk through the house without warning. Manager will ignore your messages when confronted.

Beautiful hillside Villa

Amazing Oceanview property. 7 separate suites, big pool, outdoor dining area. Well cared for, perfect for large group. Owner was great and very Accommodating. Worked well with us and provided extra recommendations. Definitely love to come back

Villa Ambiente was Magical

It's a bit off the beaten path, and that's exactly what our group was looking for. It was worth every second when we got to the Villa on the hill. It's not often that you can say the property is better than the pictures, but this is definitely one of those times. It exceeded all of our expectations from beginning to end. Patricia was great and extraordinarily helpful in organizing our activities (which are so plentiful, it became difficult to narrown down), it made coordinating the trip a breeze. Couldn't recommend the property, or Domenical as a destination in a magical country any more than I do.

Beautiful property, excellent management

Villa Ambiente is a beautiful facility. It was a short (5-7min) drive from a beginner surf beach (Dominicalito), and about 3 minutes longer to a more advanced surf beach (Dominical). The jungle was amazing, the pool at the property perfect. Patricia was always available to help with scheduling excursions. She dealt with any problems we had immediately. The beds were comfortable. The rooms were air conditioned and had everything we needed. I highly recommend Villa Ambiente and Patricia!

30 year Peace Corps Costa Rica reunion

Villa Ambiente was spectacular. The views were amazing. The rooms were great each with its own bathroom plus extra bathrooms at different areas of the common areas. Pool was big and outdoor areas were able for our group of 13. Host was super helpful and responsive. Driveway was long and a little steep but not too bad. Used the road to the place as a morning hike and run. Just across the road to Dominicalito beach and Dominical and Uvita towns. Lots of wildlife to view from the place. All in all an amazing place for a group of friends and couples to be together. Definitely recommend this place and plan to come back here.
