We had a lovely stay in Unit C. The apartment was very clean and modern. It was great that drinking water was provided, and the kitchen was equipped with enough items to cook small meals. The rooftop pool is a nice addition. We really enjoyed the neighborhood, and even though it was the start of the "off-season" in Barra, there were plenty of restaurants open. Barra is small enough to walk everywhere, and everyone seemed very friendly. Pretty much in a few-block area around the apartment there are a convenience store, a couple of small "abarrotes" shops, several seafood as well as Mexican-food restaurants either on the beach side or the lagoon side, the water taxis to take you over to Colimilla where there are more restaurants, a pharmacy, "gift" vendors, etc. We loved the little upstairs bar just around the corner that had some live music and the fabulous "German" restaurant at the other end of town, where you'll find many other stores and vendors and restaurants.
My only suggestion for the apartment would be to offer a shared washer and dryer. Currently, there is an empty room downstairs, where I read they were going to put in a little store. For stays longer than a couple of weeks, it would be great if they had a little stackable washer-dryer that the guests could use...or, it could possibly be installed on the rooftop patio where the pool is.
The neighborhood had a LOT of very loud traffic noise, as the apartments are on a main intersection where vehicles turn around from the one-way street coming from town to go back through town on the one-way street leaving town. Personally, I've never minded the "regular" noise in a Mexican town (fireworks, roosters, dogs, fiestas, music, etc.), but the really loud traffic noise was kind of annoying. But, we didn't let it spoil our stay. We fell in love with Barra, and I was glad we found such a nice apartment for our first stay. Thanks Abel and Cain!
