"If a person enjoys beautiful sunrises this is the place to be. If you are looking for a home away from home Kathy’s home has everything you need. This is a very well equipped home with all of he kitchen appliances you need including food processor, microwave, juicer, coffee makers and bbq. "Really enjoyed my stay at Areca House. I was there solo for a vacation; however, it would be fine too for a couple. Great location to the beach (just across the street), as well as close to restaurants (within walking distance). It was great to enjoy Garifuna places of interest (wonderful food, etc.). Doc responded quickly to my initial inquiries, and Janette provided a helpful introduction to the place after I arrived. Would recommend Areca House!"

"This place is wonderful and full of Italian character. David, our host, built the house and is very knowledgeable of the area. If you want a peaceful, private jungle getaway, this is the place for you. It is showing some age in places, but we prefer to stay at properties with character instead of the modern, sterile feel that many rentals have. There is no cheap, generic B&B art in this house. It is authentic and charming. Breakfasts on the deck were relaxing, as were evenings in the pool. "

"We really enjoyed our stay. Mirko was very helpful with setting up an excursion, and we appreciated the mid-week visit by the hospitality team. It was wonderful to have the screened in porch area as we were getting rain most evenings and various biting bugs were active (everywhere, not just at the house).
