Took a few days off at the beginning of the week to show my children the beautiful waterfalls of Ricketts Glen. I chose this place because of the absolutely perfect location, but there was more than just the location that we loved.
The fire pit outback was the perfect setup for mountain pies and s'mores. A huge box of wood, protected from the rain, was available for $5 for 10 pieces.
We played Monopoly, cards, and Worst Case Scenario, all of which were in the cabin. We had all the cooking utensils we needed for pancakes, eggs, bacon, and toast. Plenty of paper towels, toilet paper, and garbage bags.
We hiked 7 miles one day and it was nice to quickly return to the cabin in less than 5 minutes and rest. There are also several restaurants within 10 minutes as well as a Dollar General, corner store, and gas station.
If we come out that way again, we'd definitely try and get this cabin again.
