When we rented the condo, there were no reviews on the HomeAway site. 2 weeks before our trip, we saw 2 out of 4 reviews stating the bed being very uncomfortable. We then contacted Vacasa (a "premier partner" of HomeAway) 8 times per phone asking for a better mattress and we were assured each time that we would get an immediate response to what they were going to do to resolve the issue. We started our vacation with still no word from Vacasa, so we brought an air mattress with us just in case. Just prior to our arrival we were emailed from Vacasa that they "fixed" the mattress by layering a feather bed topper on top of the mattress from 1995. After 1 night on the bed and plenty of Ibuprofen, we slept on the air mattress. Scientifically, we can prove that a great topper does not mask a terrible mattress!
Only if Vacasa would ever replace the mattress with a NEW one, could we recommend this place. It is within 3 car minutes from Sunday River and the shuttle service stops right in front of the apartment. It was clean and quiet.
