Great View! Great Price! Great Stay!
We rented this home as a short getaway for our anniversary. We had a great stay at a great price point for the view, as compared to other homes in the area for twice the cost. The host, Jackie, was very communicative & responsive to our needs; some snacks left for guests too! It’s an older home with updated floors & other renovation done, yet nothing spectacular to look at from the exterior, so expect it to have older home quirks: some two prong outlets (a tip: bring 2 & 3 prong extension cords & splitters), kitchen drawers not on tracks, microwave in laundry room, an unusable 2nd shower. For us, that’s expected at the lower price point. There’s a few windows with no coverings, including a frontal hallway window to the bedrooms & bathroom, but Jackie was receptive to feedback to add privacy clings for extra guest privacy (after we met a gardener face-to-face at the window, & public beach access is the home’s side yard). All said, the water view from the living room was so wonderful, combined with the very quiet neighborhood, it was well worth the stay! One lower rating was for cleanliness. Although allowing pets, we found no pet hair anywhere, which was fantastic. However, there were some cobwebs hanging from the ceiling, the range hood had dripping grease, & we had ants in the kitchen (counters & trash can). However, Jackie immediately sent someone with ant traps that took care of it, and she let the cleaning crew know to “look up.” For the price & view, a lovely stay!

Great spot, great view. House was very clean. Beach access is great. Perfect pacific nw experience. However the house lacks modern amenities. Not enough power outlets. Poorly placed everything for function. Fit and finish is poor. Plumbing proved inadequate.

Quiet homey getaway
This was a terrific rental. The location near Semhiamoo, Blaine and Birch Bay. Is ideal. There are a lot of opportunities for exploring. The outside of the house is plain with virtually no landscaping, but inside you are welcomed by a nicely appointed home. The living room offers a magical picture window overlooking the water. The furniture is attractive and comfortable. Bedrooms are bright. The kitchen is small, but quite nice for two people cooking. It had everything one could want for preparing and serving meals. Everything worked -small to large appliances! Thank you! The neighborhood is quiet, so it’s a great getaway from urban hubbub. Interactions with Jackie were terrific. We felt very welcomed. 5 stars!

Very nice and clean with a beautiful view
This was a lovely stay for our family. It's a very short walk to the beach and the outdoor chairs were a nice addition. The views were gorgeous and since the place was in a quiet area, it was very relaxing. We would definitely come here again. The beds were comfortable too which isn't always the case in rentals!

Cute, cozy cabin with beautiful view!
Took a girls' trip to Birch Bay and loved our stay here! Very communicative property management that went out of their way to make us feel welcome (beer tasting, breakfast cookies, popcorn!). Simple check-in and check-out. Very cozy home with a great view of the water. Will certainly return here for our next Birch Bay trip!

A nice getaway!
Fantastic view of the water! Enjoyed the quiet neighborhood as well as the access to the beach. Little snacks and beverages were around the house which provided a welcoming atmosphere. There was no stress! I would definitely come back again!

Comfortable charm
Comfort to the max! This house is beyond welcoming and comfortable. Once you open the front door, the sea welcomes you and so does the comfort and chart of this dear little house. We enjoyed long walks on the beach and time catching up and resting. The beds were very comfy and we rested well. Thanks for letting us use your home.

Really Sweet Property
We very much enjoyed the property. The cabin was older and quirky and very clean. The bedrooms did get chilly, but the space heaters made it very comfortable. The view was amazing. The short walk to the beach ment we were able to enjoy the beach several times. The complimentary snacks, beverages, and toiletries were very thoughtful. We would 100% stay again.

Lots of wildlife and beautiful ocean views at Blue Heron Cottage
We had a lovely family weekend getaway staying at Blue Heron Cottage! We were greeted by a beautiful sunset over the ocean out of the huge landscape window as we checked in, and appreciated the flight of local IPAs in the fridge :) The home was clean, comfortable, and well equipped. Beach access was extremely convenient, and we had a blast collecting shells and bird watching during low tide, even getting close-up fly-bys from a bald eagle on both days of our stay. There were herons everywhere, and even a few bats flying around during twilight, much to our daughter's delight. Jackie was very welcoming and made sure our stay went smoothly. Thank you for a great weekend getaway!

Captivating sunsets & cozy cottage on the waterfront
We absolutely loved our stay at this bright and cheery cottage. We ate dinner outside and watched the gorgeous sunsets together, and we even felt like we were outside when in the cottage with that massive window in the living room. With easy access to the water, we would spend our days exploring the beach with all the different water levels. Our girls could catch crabs and admire the birds all day. The cottage was well-stocked and was a lovely home away from home for our family.

Ocean view cottage
Spectacular location overlooking Semiahmoo Bay and Canada,. I had not seen so many eagles and herons in one place - even bald eagles.and osprey. The cottage was well equiped and even though the outside temperature reached 106 degrees the absence of A/C was not an issue as the breeze off the ocean kept the property comfortable. I would definitely rent the cottage again.
