"Daisy Lodge was just perfect. It truely felt like a home from home and had everything you would possibly need. It was lovely and clean and Helen the owner gave us lots of information for things to do and see. I honestly could not fault it and would highly recommend. "

"Lovely quiet village, ideal location for walkers and dogs, no shops in Portinscale only 1 pub and a cafe. We stayed in apartment- and ate at pub in Portinscale only a 15 minute walk into Keswick lovely walk. Apartment clean , everything you need . The building is Victorian, plenty of room in apartment set in lovely grounds. It is dated, and the hall entrance could do with repainting and new carpets to make it more inviting for guests. "The property is undoubtedly small. It was very clean and comfortable - a perfect base for exploring this wonderful area. Plenty of grocery stores and pubs/restaurants in surrounding area. A very steep narrow staircase leading to the second level of the property. I note this has been mentioned in other reviews too. Overall, my wife and I were very satisfied with the property."

"Spent a week there with family and dogs. Very clean and everything you could need The views are beautiful. One thing to note, if you take a dog make sure you have long leads and a torch, as nowhere enclosed to let them off before bed or first thing. Both bathrooms are en-suite as well as opening to the corridor which was a peek we didn’t expect. The perfect place for a relaxing family trip and highly recommend. "

"Had a great long weekend at the property. Had loads of stuff there to use the kitchen to its full potential. Was lovely and warm and everyone had plenty of space in the accommodation. We were able to celebrate Christmas with my mum who is going to Guatemala next month and won’t be there. A few tiny tweaks will make this a perfect let but already great as it is."

"A short break at half term for the grandkids. Very nice accommodation. Heating tolerable for Nov but turning the thermostat up had little affect. The setting of the lodge is excellent. Nice walks and views. Thankfully the weather remained dry even if it was overcast. Would recommend this lodge and helpful owner. Lots to see/di in the area. The nearest shops are Keswick which is a drive away so buy before you arrive. The kids liked the Puzzle museum in Keswick and going out on Derwenter Water...

"Owners of Cottage provided a phone number to call one week before our arrival. Numerous attempts each day and "no one" answered the phone. And there wasn't any way to leave a message. On our way to the unit, we had an emergency, one member, in the emergency room for 3 hours. I tried getting hold of the unit, no response so I called VRBO. We had to cancelled because I could not speak with the owner about our situation and their accommodations. Request complete refund."

"Vicky greeted us on arrival & it was nice to know she was nearby to help with any queries or issues. (There weren’t any.) The apartment was warm & cosy with all we needed for our long weekend. The hot tub was a special treat after a long, chilly walk. Thank you, Vicky."
