Beautiful house that met all of our needs.

My family and I were traveling to Brevard from Ohio and Washington State to celebrate the life of my mother after her passing a few months prior. We needed a home close to town that could accommodate several members of our immediate family including 2 children as well as provide a gathering place for extended family that didn't require they drive up winding mountain roads. My Carolina Home was perfect for us. The home was clean. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen had all the amenities we needed. The kids enjoyed the game room, and the separate living quarters upstairs provided my daughter a space for her and her children where they could eat breakfast and watch TV without feeling like they were being disruptive to other housemates. We would recommend this home to anyone looking for a quiet, comfortable place to stay in Brevard.
Several games were provided that kept the kids entertained all evening.
The grounds were beautiful with several flowering plants.

Fabulous House

Our family was here in June for a wedding. The house is charming and has so much space. The hydrangeas surrounding the house make for a lovely entrance. The house has everything you need - rocking chairs on the porch, a grill, lovely rooms and 3 bathrooms. It’s perfect for adults, families with children and actually it’s great for anyone. The host is very responsive and accommodating. We had a fabulous time there.

Wonderful Experience

Beautiful house and landscape, lots of space. The hosts were wonderful. Upon arrival, they provided a basket of snacks, coffee, and condiments necessary without rushing to the grocery market.

Wonderful for family get together!

Great house for our family get together to celebrate our daughter’s college graduation from Brevard College. Close to town and the college. We appreciated the snacks, coffee, and the water provided by the owners. Thank you!

Absolutely wonderful stay!! Great owners. Highly recommended

We came to town to visit our sons at Brevard. 7 of us. The house was fully stocked. Clean. And very welcoming. We had the blessing of meeting the owners. Truly fantastic humans. Charming old home

A Home Away from Home

We were welcomed with goodies and the house was a truly comfortable place to stay for our whole family as we stayed for nearby camps. Truly well stocked for any size group! We adults were able to work and zip back and forth to various places in town because everything is so close. Thanks for such a great stay! Fantastic Home, Fantastic Hosts

First, Mr. and Mrs. Merrill were amazing hosts. Without boring the readers with details, they went above and beyond with communication ahead of time and made sure we knew how to get in touch if we had any issues at all. With that sort of attention and initiative up front, we didn’t expect we would. And we didn’t. Their vacation home was lovely, peaceful, and just right for our family of five plus two adult friends. Thanks so much for the awesome stay and wonderful memories. BTW, we definitely forgot to sign your guestbook but we hope to send some pictures along with a longer thank you in the coming weeks. Great location to explore Brevard

A fantastic location to explore the cool town of Brevard and the local mountain highlights. Quiet and charming. It has several rooms and living spaces throughout. Great for a larger group. Bathrooms are small but functional. The hosts were fantastic and provided ample kitchen supplies including coffee and condiments (always a huge help!).

Great Location - Biltmore to Waterfalls & Wineries

This house was delightful. It was just as advertised - 3 bathrooms, 4 bedrooms, plenty of indoor & outdoor gathering spaces. Plenty of comfortable beds and furniture. We were able to see the splendor of the Biltmore Estate and the natural beauty of surrounding waterfalls in Gorges State Park, Pisgah National Forest, and Du Pont Forest. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Lovely updated historic home

We had family stay at Carolina Ave in order to host a drop-in gathering for my parents 60th anniversary. It worked out wonderfully. The gardens are lovely, the kitchen opens onto the deck, there are plenty of sofas inside and the home is well stocked with supplies. The host allowed us to park extra cars in a lot across the road. My only issue was with the mattresses dipping in the middle. Otherwise very clean and comfortable.

An absolutely lovely home with an abundance of charm

This was the perfect home for our needs. Our family was visiting the area for a memorial service. The house was perfect for all 7 of us. The master bedroom with the bathroom was perfect for my elderly parents as it was very accessible for their needs. My adult children appreciated the privacy of the upstairs bedrooms with the kitchenette and TV room. Our host, Charles, was a delightful man. He and his wife live next to the property and it was so nice to visit with him out in the yard a few times. Charles also has a sweet dog named Rocky who came over to visit us a few times which I absolutely loved. Charles told us the house is 120 years old and that he grew up in the house. Oh, and the big, beautiful trees on the property were incredibly magical. I loved waking up to the sound of a bird symphony each morning. The landscaping was so lovely and added to the comfort of our stay. I highly recommend this property. I think it is the best VRBO I have ever stayed in.
