Few things
Nice house, kitchen fully equipped. Could have done with some deckchairs for the garden as the picnic table wasn’t a relaxing seating arrangement. Also thought the bath mats could do with replacing. However we liked the area and Bude

Our "upside down" house!!
The grandchildren had asked for a house near the sea and with a garden and By the Sea was brilliant! The beach was a 2 minute walk and the view from the lounge overlooked the waves of the north coast and the SW Coastal path were wonderful. The house was very clean, spacious and well equipped. The two little problems we encountered were quickly resolved with a message to our housekeeper. A wondeeful place to stay!!

Perfect little get away for family & dogs
Super little place for a quiet family/dog friendly break. Clean and well appointed next to a vast sandy beach and within easy reach of Bude by car bus or cycle. Yes there is a rather ‘bizarre’ overly large build on boundary but you can still see/hear the sea and you’re still right by the beach and cafe. Little issue other than it’s an odd fit! All communication very professional and accommodating. Had no problems but James checked in a couple of times with a friendly ‘how’s it all going’ . My only comments are: would be great to have a couple of garden chairs as the bench is a little hard. Also be a wary of the bathroom radiators as they get extremely hot and one of us got quite a nasty burn! They can be turned off but be cautious with children.

Great location
Very close to beach. Nice modern property. Good sized bedrooms and spacious all in kitchen, dinning area and lounge but no blinds to screen the sun so a little difficult to view the TV until after sunset. For us that was week commencing 2 July. Otherwise apart from the creaky stairs we had a very enjoyable stay.

Great place at Black Sands
We had a really nice time, it was an extended family getaway so great that each room had an en-suite bathroom. The house was beautifully clean and so lovely the living area was on the first floor with great views out to the sea. Yes, there’s a building site but was no problem for us.

A nice home for holiday in a great position
We thoroughly enjoying staying at By the Beach. The property offers everything we needed and more. All room has its bath / shower, and toilet. The living room positioned on the top floor gives a view out to the paths and partial view of the beach that unfortunately is blocked by the building work by the property. The owner, James was very helpful when we had a bit of trouble operating one of the appliances. Overall, we had a fabulous time touring and returning to a holiday home relaxing.

Wonderful break in a beautiful house
We had such a wonderful holiday, and found the house was impressively well equipped - particularly for children. The communication with the team was excellent, and they were hugely responsive when we reached out with any issues or questions - both before and during our break. We loved the house and can’t wait to come and stay again soon!

The building site next door blocked our sea views which were advertised and was noisy in the morning. It was not pleasant sitting in the garden looking at a building site.

Great house, unfortunate building site
Whilst this was a lovely house, we were extremely disappointed to find that the ‘phenomenal views’ were spoiled by a building site, which was very close to the boundary of the garden. This meant that we had the noise of a building site, cement deliveries etc and felt that our privacy was infringed by builders being only yards away from our windows. It would have been nice to know that this was an issue before we arrived. We have photos of our accommodation from the beach, with the building site, cement lorries, etc. We also had an issue with birds coming down the chimney, into the living room. This happened on four occasions but luckily we were able to catch them and release them. Perhaps the chimney needs to be capped. The property was really well equipped. The proportions were great; it was well maintained and very clean.

This property has a fabulous location, almost on the beach. It is well appointed, very comfortable and was excellent value. Very dog and son friendly, everything was an extremely good standard. Highly recommended.

Great Location
Right on the beach, lovely views, nice and clean house with everything you’d expect. Only negative was the building site next door. Not quiet but they didn’t start early. Also a tumble drier would be useful in the colder months!

Great location but issues
Downstairs rooms were cold and damp. No heating source at first in them but owner then brought round oil powered radiators which helped. Apparently underground heating ineffective downstairs. Mould growing on wall in one bedroom. Owner cleaned next day. Was sent details for wrong cottage and confusion therefore on arrival as another party were already in that place. Owner apologised and informed us he had sent wrong details by mistake and we were next door. If we had arrived first it would have been awful as we would have had to move after un packing. Buding work next door woke us at 8am and spoilt view of beach from property.

Lovely house in a great location
Lovely house with plenty of room for all the family plus a dog. Modern, clean and equiped with everything you need. Small issue with the door but the owner responded immediately so couldn't ask for more. Location really steals the show however. House to beach in 2 minutes often with a short stop at the bar on the way back!

Excellent agent & attention to detail
We booked By the Beach after a last minute cancellation - it was only a couple of weeks ahead of travel, and due to everyone ,stay-cationing’, there was little free in the south west. This Property looked too good to be true, so much so that after booking, I started panicking that we had been duped!! However, the house is exactly as described - scrupulously clean, comfy beds, 1 min walk to the beach, easy parking ... all great. What sets it apart thought, was the attention and help from the agent, James. He answered every question in moments - literally - both before travelling and during the trip. We had an issue with the lights over the Fokker not working - not a crisis, just a bit gloomy - so we messaged him on Saturday eve, he replied almost instantly, and arranged an electrician to sort it on Monday! We have rented every summer in Cornwall, and never had this sort of help - def above and beyond what is expected!!

Wonderful place to stay..
Wow what can we say ,what an amazing place to stay .. the property had everything you could need,for a lovely holiday .Home from Home.. The owner left a Xmas Tree which was a really nice touch for our Xmas break.Would recommend to friends and family as it was just perfect.. Lovely walks great places eat and a great location for visiting different places in Cornwall.. Look forward to returning in the future..

Great property,Clean and well maintained. Should mention high step to get into showers as not suitable for older people. Shame no access to beach from garden area.Also we had a couple of days when school parties set up by the fence, they were very noisy and made use of garden impossible.

Great holiday in a superb location.
We had a fabulous week in this house! A proper beach holiday - thanks, of course, to near wall-to-wall sunshine, and the proximity of the beach. The house wasn't quite as expected, but this was an advantage to us as it happened. There are 3 bedrooms on the ground floor, not just the one bunk bedded room as I had understood - or rather misunderstood - from the details, and a twin room upstairs. This means you can take advantage of the views (and the sunsets!) from the living area on the first floor. The garden is fully enclosed, and therefore very safe for small children. In this respect the house is probably in the best position on the complex - tucked away, and relatively private. We had a few little niggles - the shower didn't drain in the master bedroom, the curtain pole was parting company with the wall in another, and there were lots of dog hairs on the rug in the sitting area, despite it being immaculately clean everywhere else. These issues didn't spoil our holiday, and Nick offered to sort them all out immediately, which we declined. I'm sure they will have been addressed before the next guests arrived. There were one or two signs of 'tiredness' in the property eg rusty towel rails, which, considering the cost of the house rental, would be relatively cheap to replace. Overall, the property was very good all round - attractively furnished and very comfortable (especially the beds!). I would have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone, and would definitely stay there again.
