You can't get a better view from this house. It is right on the lake and it is on a cliff that is maybe 40 feet high. The house itself is unique---the old front is actually way over on the right side and you don't automatically even notice it. The home addition is most likely not that new, and it blends in with the old house very well. There are at least 4 "sitting" rooms on the first floor, so if you want a room all to yourself during the day, there will be no problem! Also, with more than 5000 square feet, there is plenty of space in the house!
The kitchen is very well stocked with pots and pans and utensils. The living room is spacious and comfortable. All 4 bedrooms are nicely laid out. The grounds are very pretty. By the lake there were 2 2-man kayaks, which we used a lot. Big laundry room with nice washer and dryer.
A couple of small things. We were there during a heat wave, which seem to be increasing in frequency and duration in New England, and the only air conditioner is downstairs, making for a few very warm evenings in the upstairs bedrooms. Also, there are no curtains in the bedrooms. The master bedroom faces the east, and on one particularly clear morning the sun was shining into our room at 5:55 am! So I would advise sleep masks.
Overall, though, it is a great house and we had a wonderful time.
