We enjoyed our stay here. The place was not as fancy or luxurious as where our friends were staying in the Oceans Edge estate, but it was a lot cheaper, spacious, had good quality fittings and furnishings, 2 bathrooms, aircond in every room, was clean and tidy, the (large) pool was right outside the back door, the beds were comfortable, there were big screen tv's and even Foxtel movie channels. Even had a family of wallabies literally on your doorstep, and mysterious exotic wildlife making strange noises in the middle of the night for a little rainforest charm. Although the complex is quite large, it was quiet and we barely saw anyone during the day or night.
I booked here mainly as the apartment was described as "within the grounds of the Hotel Grand Chancellor" but found the apartment is actually in the grounds of the Coral Coast Resort, about 5 minutes walk further along the road. Even though we were without a car (catching buses to tour around actually worked out well), it was not a problem for us and we enjoyed the extra walking distance into town as exercise. It was a 10 minute walk to the back of Peppers where you could cut through to hit the main part of town and good coffee, mango and banana smoothies and breakfasts at Espresso and co.
My son and his girlfriend made use of the Health club gold card and said it was good and they were friendly there, but we did not use at anything at the Grand Chancellor itself as we had everything we needed.
Overall I would consider staying here again if coming to Palm Cove with family or another couple, and looking for good quality, reasonably priced accommodation.
