Misrepresented
The house was dusty and the outside decks were filthy. I had to dust off the patio furniture. We couldn’t use the BBQ because it was rusty. Master shower faucet needed to be pulled out but I couldn’t do it since I had surgery. The property advertised a washer and dryer but it was located in an old dirty outside shed. The dryer did not work. A sign in the house suggested we take our dirty laundry home. Such a disappointment because this house could have been really nice. The walk down to the beach was not 18 minutes as it advertised. Won’t be back to Cambria for a long time.

Peaceful Poppy
We had an incredibly peaceful stay at Poppy house. The beds and linens are comfortable and the kitchen well equipped. Close to town but we enjoyed the trees, daily deer sightings and wild turkeys. We will be back!

Beautiful, Scenic Home
We loved most everything about this home except that the upstairs shower had no instructions about how to work it and we weren't provided with coffee. It was during the Thanksgiving holidays so we couldn't contact the property managers and that was of some concern. We tried calling and got no response back on our cell phones. But we did enjoy our stay and the balconies were so much fun to sit out on and we really loved the house.

Our Third Time at Poppy Cottage
This is one of our favorite places to stay when we visit Cambria. It's generally above the fog, with many places to walk in the neighborhood. The location makes it convenient to much in the area.

What a wonderful home! we loved our time together in this quiet neighborhood. The beds were comfy, the kitchen was great, and loved the master bath shower! Thank you for making this home available to us! My parents had called San Siemon home for over 20 years and both just recently passed. This time in Cambria was precious to me and my girls as we remembered our treasured times with my parents. While we have lost their presence with us physically, being at the place they loved helped comfort us and made us feel close to them again. Erin

Loved Poppy Cottage
My husband and I spent 8 nights at the cottage. It’s a fun, quirky layout and very liveable. We stayed in the upstairs loft bedroom. The bed was very comfortable. The room adjoins the bathroom with separate toilet and sink area. There is a large shower that had plenty of heat and water pressure. The nozzle is a little hard to pull out but we figured it out. There is also a secret reading room/daybed with tv adjacent to the 2nd balcony, which is accessed through the walk in closet. The kitchen was easy to work in and fairly well stocked. Just remember to bring coffee and filters as there were none on hand. We enjoyed daily walks through the peaceful quiet neighborhood. The streets are lined with mature pines and California live oak trees. Flocks of wild turkeys, deer and gray squirrels were everywhere. We chose to drive 5 minutes to the Fiscalini ranch for ocean walks along the boardwalk, parked off of Windsor south of highway 1. Moonstone beach and of course the charming town area is only a 5 minute drive also. We love Cambria and would stay at the Poppy cottage again if the opportunity arises.

Great Location
Very well equipped and a very nice property. Outside furniture was too dirty to use. Needs a comprehensive clean. The kitchen was one of the best equipped ones we have ever rented. WiFi and cable TV with a Bose audio system too.

Great location, unique house
Great, quiet location in the woods with deer and turkeys. Walkable distance to Fiscalini trails (~0.75mi), short drive to downtown. As a couple, we really enjoyed the house. It has a unique layout, with loft main bedroom overlooking the living room. There's another upstairs living room off the bedroom, leading to a second 2nd floor balcony. Kitchen is among the best-equipped of rentals we've stayed in. Took us a while to find the pull-out dining table, which probably isn't great for a large group, but fine for 2-3 people.

Comfortable and quiet
Nice quiet neighborhood. Comfortable but could use a slight update and much better instructions and attention to detail from the management company in helping to navigate various aspects of the "cabin" (e.g., it took us a while to find the dining table - it retracts into the kitchen counter; there are four remotes for the TV downstairs and three for the one in the second floor with unhelpful handwritten instructions and no TV access - I have the same system and it works with one remote; the vintage 1960's thermostat cannot be set at an accurate temperature control) These (with the exception of the lack of cable access) were minor inconveniences, but they can be addressed with little effort or cost for the benefit of future guests. We enjoy 4-5 stays a year at home-share venues and the instructions and the attention to detail are typically much better. We enjoyed the stay, nevertheless, with the help of glorious weather and the beautiful California coast

Great place in the woods
Nice house. So quiet and relaxing. From the picture window we saw tons of deer, wild turkeys and foxes. Well equipped kitchen, nice bathrooms and comfortable beds.

Our second stay at Poppy Cottage
This place fits our needs perfectly. We were glad to see updates have been made since we stayed in 2019. The slide series that includes the green couch is not up to date. There is now a nice leather couch in the living room which feels much cleaner than the old green one, a couple other newer chairs and a nice new pull out couch in the bonus room where the day bed was. The deer and turkeys are a lot of fun to watch come through the yard and the property is beautiful with plenty of trees and even a couple tire swings. The kitchen has a great assortment of cooking materials and spices, oil, etc. Sitting on one of the decks at night watching the sun go down with a glass of wine is a real treat.

Accommodations served well for older family and the younger family.
Cabin worked well with the divided sleeping rooms up stairs with bath for young adults and down stairs accommodations for older. Very good place. Would return.

Beautiful, comfortable place to relax!
Positives: Quiet neighborhood, very comfortable beds, great location, driving distance to town, walking distance to beautiful seaside trails. Lots of wildlife. Easy to get to wineries/tourist spots, but is very enjoyable just sitting at home in the woods. Negatives: Very small dining room table fits no more than 3 people, carpets appear old/in need of replacement/deep cleaning Overall: I would absolutely stay here again! It was very enjoyable!

Lots of wildlife to entertain! We liked being amongst the trees.. I liked that the house was pet friendly with no other traces of pets having been there. Surfaces and floors were clean but webs and dust on higher surfaces. Loved the shower! Coffee pot and blender not functional but reported to management team. It would have also been beneficial to have a tea kettle to heat water. Overall though, we enjoyed the house, thanks!

A Wonderful Christmas Getaway
Our family usually takes a big trip every Christmas, usually out of the country. This year, that was not possible due to COVID. We found this place while searching online for something closer. (My husband and I live in Fresno and our daughter and son-in-law live in Pacifica.) Cambria was the perfect place to gather! The house is so nice and clean. It’s has all sorts of quirky features. I love the cork wall and the penny window seat. It was also very comfortable and felt like home for the few days we were there. The kitchen is well-equipped with any kind of utensil you might need. The location was beautiful! We took a little hikes nearby and visited Main Street. I would highly recommend this place to friends.

Wonderful Getaway
The house is beautiful. The neighborhood is quiet. The wildlife around the property is amazing. Close to the beach close to Cambria close to San Simeon we didn’t want to leave. We recommend this place for anybody to stay for a getaway or stay in this neighborhood forever.

Super cool house.....
House was pretty cool. Built in the 80's remodel done, good use of extra space. Only complaint and I hope the owners fix it is that the home smelled like sewage as both toilets were leaking into the floor. No wetness, probably mold. Cleared up with open windows.

Nice comfortable cabin. Clean! Dog Friendly, easy access to beach and trails. Stayed for a week and it was relaxing! Would come back to Poppy Cabin again. :)
