Really disappointed that the bad reviews were all true. The room was large which was great; but not overly clean - spiderwebs, Bobby pins from past guests in carpet, marks and scuffs on all walls and all the furniture was dinted and in need of some basic maintenance. Bathroom flooded after every shower as the door didn’t close properly. Housekeeping seem disorganised - I never saw a hallway without a pile of dirty linens waiting to be removed in the entire two days, when our room was made up we were left with no towels at all and our rollaway bed took a good 3 hours and multiple calls to appear. We also had a staff member enter our room without knocking - he clearly thought the room was empty as quickly shut the door and then knocked but we were pretty shocked that knocking isn’t basic protocol for staff when entering a room. I think the biggest issue is realm position themselves as a five star hotel, which therefore leads to some expectations that they just do not deliver on. Never found the QR code for the mini bar or room service so can’t comment on those.
I did give feedback to reception on checking out and I cannot fault the staff members response he wrote it down, promised follow up and comped our parking and I felt like he acknowledged our issues very well. The public areas of the hotel are lovely, but the rooms need a good deep clean and repair, and unless the service and offering can be lifted the hotel should only be positioning themselves as a 3.5 star hotel.
