View, deer, and foxes
This is the second time I have stayed at this house. Now planning a third stay with another mix of family. What a find! The view is breath taking. The neighborhood is peaceful. We fed as many as 10 deer and 3 foxes from the balcony at one time. The host is fantastic and prompt.

Clean and bright.. 2 bedrooms wit private bathrooms, plus an overflow bedroom near the big master bedroom. Perfect for us... The host was very helpful -ade sure we had a mixer, since we were bringing mashed potatoes...

Great view
We loved the location! The home was spacious and easily accessible for my mother with mobility issues. The view of the lake was lovely and the backyard had lots of wildlife to enjoy. We enjoyed just lounging, talking, and looking at the lake. Unfortunately, the cleanliness wasn’t what we’d expected.. The linens hadn’t been changed for our stay, but Barbara had plenty of clean ones available and we easily found them. The bathrooms also weren’t as clean as we’d have liked (hair in sinks, soap containers had dark gunk under the pumps). The living room furniture also had animal hair on them- I’m guessing a previous guest brought an undeclared animal as Barbara had very clear signage not allowing pets… Overall, however, we enjoyed our stay. Barbara was receptive to our concerns and we look forward to trying her beautiful home again, and if you want a spacious home with a wonderful peaceful view, give her home a try!

Excellent weekend getaway!
We spent labor day weekend at Babara's house and we loved it! The house was spacious and cleaned with excellent view of Canyon Lake from afar from the back patio. It situated in a wooded, quiet neighborhood and we saw deers around the house every day, love it!

Cozy Little Getaway
The house is wonderful! There was plenty of room for 6 people. We all enjoyed our time and the scenery. Deer and other wildlife come right up to the back porch and give you a fantastic taste of the outdoors. Kids had a blast! The only con I would say is that the rooms do not have blackout curtains so as soon as the sun comes up, you are up. It would be nice for people that would like to sleep in a bit on their vacation to be able to achieve that with a dark room. Also there is only 1 TV in the whole house so that was a bit of a bummer because some people like to fall asleep watching. Overall it was a wonderful experience and we made some great memories.

Clean, comfortable and great location
My family of six stayed at Barbara’s house for six nights. Each morning and evening we were able to feed deer (up to 7 at one time!) from the back porch, and one evening we even saw a fox. The view of the lake is beautiful from the back porch as well. The house is clean, comfortable and in a good location to serve as “base camp” for our planned activities in New Braunfels and San Antonio. I would recommend this house for anyone looking to stay in the area!

Great house, wonderful host!
We stayrd at this property in April of 2023 to attend a local wedding. We chose house based on location, but we're so glad we chose this one. Beautiful property, beautiful views. Barbara was a great host! She provided great recommendations on things to do in the area. Based of the details provided of the local area we were able to rent a boat and enjoy a day on Canyon Lake.

Texas Christmas Rendezvous
Perfect place for families to gather and enjoy the lake views and Hill Country. Lots of fun activities in the area for adults and children. Then home was spotless and we enjoyed cooking our meals before setting out on our daily adventures. Wonderful history in the area, great for day trips. Barbara is a super-host; she presented an amazing travelogue for the area with a variety of tips for local fare. Thanks, Barbara, for a great Christmas!

Beautiful home and surrounding view!
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay especially drinking our morning coffee on the porch with the deer and fox. The home was in a great location near tubing on the Guadalupe or family fun on the lake. It was very clean and stocked with everything we needed to cook inside or out.

Amazing home!
We stayed at this home for the weekend and we can’t wait to go back! The house itself has the perfect setup with rooms/bathrooms, which is hard to find. The porch, backyard and views are like no other! We could’ve spent all weekend just taking in the scenery. Deer are always in the backyard and Barbara even provided some corn to feed them. We travel quite a bit and have already shared the home listing with our friends/family so they can experience this as well. Barbara is a fantastic host, if you are thinking about booking, definitely do it!

Overall a wonderful trip and home
The home was almost perfect for our family group of 6. Positives: The view!! The deer! The space. Close to everything we wanted to do. Beds were comfortable and the special touches of coffee, filters, laundry soap, deer feed, shampoo and conditioner were greatly appreciated. The owner is an author and had some fun and unique books that we enjoyed reading. Only suggestions I would contribute are turning the AC lower before guests arrive in the summer months. We walked in and it was set to 85 in the house. With temps at 107 heat index the temps did not cool until into the night hours. Once the a/c caught up it was perfect the rest of our stay. Maybe a pizza cutter and the WiFi password in the welcome booklet. Barbara was helpful when we had a question. Overall a great stay. Thanks again!
