"My husband and I enjoyed this lovely "hideaway" for our 15th anniversary! We had a quiet, private retreat for a day before having our 9 year old son join us the next day. "We loved everything about this place; from the set up of the house, to the location to the water, to the absolutely beautiful views from everywhere, to the location to town. "Although the cabin was not cleaned before we arrived, the Vacasa cleaning crew came right over after we called. They said it was a scheduling problem that caused them to not have the cabin cleaned before we got there. I would have expected a proactive call to let us know about the problem and for them to have corrected the schedule before we got there and called them about it. Vacasa is also refunding us our cleaning fee."

"This Caribou Island cabin was perfect for an end of summer getaway for my kids (13 and 11) and me. "This place was like a lottery dream home if you love the outdoors. Huge and spacious in every aspect - bedrooms, shared space, bathrooms, MASSIVE deck looking right out at the Kennebeck River, and lots of land to walk around the shore line. It is very much a hunting themed lodge but we were there for rafting, which is about 3 minutes away. Everything was modern and updated and the owner was responsive to all questions. We are planning another trip we were so happy with it."

"This is a UNIQUE place, unlike the Hilton and Marriott places I usually frequent (I’m very sure that those and similar hotels are NOT in this area!!). Moosehead Lake is beautiful in that “timeless” way, and this place is a welcome throwback to family vacations in 1950-60’s, and I’m glad to have found it.. and I’ve extended my stay !!"
