Carcar has very few choices for places to stay. I an important reasons to be in Carcar for a month, so I stayed here. The pool is large and as an athlete, I needed a pool to train in, however it was often not clean. The hotel room itself was fine except for no fridge, which a great inconvenience considering I stayed a long time, and as a vegetarian I need to keep my own food and prepare my own food.
First, no toilet seats. And overflowing toilets. Its extremely painful and difficult for someone from a western country, or used to using a normal toilet, to have to sit on a toilet with no seat. Second, many times with the housekeepers were washing linens, all the soap bubbles backed up into my bathroom, sometimes literally knee deep.
The staff is kind and polite, but just saying, "Sorry sir," with no real solution or remedy, is meaningless. I am very quiet respectful person and I don't disturb others. I normally woke up quite early went jogging then return to swim for training. My days were mostly filled with walking long distances around to area visiting people I knew and helping some very poor families.
One evening I returned around 9, exhausted from a long tiring day, probably had already walked and jogged around 20 kms, and there was a very loud party happening. An older lady and the reception, perhaps the manager, she never said who she was, told me the party might be over at 12. Another staff said maybe around 10. Its common there to never give a straight answer.
