My husband and I have vacationed at Kiawah for nearly a decade, so I feel we have become familiar with the standard for rentals in the area.
This condo has excellent proximity to the beach, roughly a 5 minute walk with a rinse off area available. This short walk is what drove us to book this condo for our anniversary. Throughout our stay, the host was responsive to the few issues we needed to contact them for (internet).
The kitchen, in our opinion, lacked a lot of functionality. We like to cook in the evening and with this kitchen, we felt “pushed” to eat out. There is no table to eat, unless you count the side table with three chairs crowded around it with barely any room for one person to comfortably eat. The microwave doesn’t open all the way without hitting the wall, minimal serveware and cooking ware, and palmetto bugs through the serving space/kitchen/trash can/restroom. My husband enjoys watching football and we were sorely disappointed to see no cable, only freely available Roku channels which frankly aren’t anything interesting to watch.
The bedroom area has clearly seen better days with outlets hanging off the wall, large scuffs on the wall, and a bathroom that felt very crowded with one person.
This isn’t a bad condo to stay at, but is subpar when compared to the standard we hold rentals in Kiawah to. This is clearly a business rental and not a rental by an owner who cares for the property.
