This cabin was great for our getaway. The beds were comfy and the shower had great water pressure, plus the tub is extra deep which made for great bubble baths. We never had any issues with hot water and used the shower, dishwasher, and washing machine (FYI: the washing machine spin cycle makes the whole house vibrate with even the smallest of loads - plan your washing accordingly). The added ameneties of games and toys, not to mention the unanticipated holiday decor, were a plus for our family that made us feel at home, and we really enjoyed the front porch swing and sitting area.
For the most part, it was very clean upon arrival, however some of the plates did visibly require a washing before use. We did have a small issue with ants in the kitchen, but it was easily resolved by keeping all unsealed food (cereal, pastries, etc.) in the fridge. As advertised, there is no WiFi, and our AT&T phones had no service. Verizon worked for the most part.
The house is in a very small cluster of homes up a twisty and sometimes narrow mountain road with sporadic houses on it. You have houses all around you, but it was very quiet (minus one distant rooster our kiddo got a huge kick out of each morning - it is definitely not loud enough to disturb any sleeping though). It takes about 20 minutes to get to Bryson City (and the closest grocery store), making the car ride to the southern entrance of GSMNP (nearest to Cherokee, NC) about 40 minutes away.
Overall, we would recommend this cabin for those who do not mind a bit of a drive to activities and are looking to get away for a peaceful mountain retreat.
