My friend and I spent two nights at this cottage. The lake is peaceful and we had great weather. The cottage itself was not what I expected. I would not recommend this cottage for anyone with mobility issues, small children or seniors. The stairs to the two bedrooms are steep and open (other than a hand rail). The bedrooms are decent but the one with two beds has dormers over the beds (watch your head!). The bathroom is on the main level.
I live rurally so I have a well and septic. The cottage well water smelled horrible. It has a strong metal odour which sticks to your skin, so bring lots of bottled water to wash up, brush your teeth, cook with and then lug all of your recyclables home.
While the lake is beautiful and there is a nice dock, getting to the dock can be a challenge. The few ‘steps’ are uneven and can be hard to negotiate for those with even minor mobility issues.
In general, it was not a horrible stay but certainly not what I was expecting. I was hoping the inconvenience of bringing all bedding, bath and kitchen linens, toilet paper, paper towels, etc…would be outweighed by the cottage and lake, but it was not. This is just my recent experience.
