The location was in a perfect spot and it was easy to get in and out of the neighborhood to go to all the places that we wanted to visit. The beds, pillows, and couches were very comfortable.
We only had one significant complaint - it was unbearably hot upstairs. We couldn't get the thermostat downstairs under 80 degrees, and upstairs felt even hotter. I see comments from other reviews that we should understand "historic home" to mean that the temperature cannot really be controlled, which is something I would not have assumed. We found a Walmart open late and bought a fan and left it there for the next visitors and it made upstairs a little more bearable, but still very uncomfortable. Late May felt brutally hot so I can't imagine what it is like in August heat or February cold.
We are all youngish and can climb stairs easily, but don't stay here if steep, short stairs are a problem for you. Also, the shower door on the downstairs shower is exceptionally narrow and it wouldn't be usable for a larger person. None of us could figure out how to use the shower in the second bathroom, so we all just used the third one because it was the roomiest.
The Keurig was replaced with a standard drip coffee pot so we had to go buy coffee grounds since we couldn't use the k cups we brought, so if you're a coffee drinker bring ground coffee instead.
I'm not really complaining, just sharing information I wish I had known ahead of time so you can make sure this place will work for you.
