The VRBO listing did not include the importance of having a 4x4 vehicle. Hopefully, the owners update the description to highlight that importance. At the time I booked my trip -there was no mention, otherwise I would have factored that cost into our travel budget & car rental. Upon looking back it was only listed in fine print on Vacasa (NOT VRBO) but only once the property address/details came through the week of arrival. I missed it b/c it was so small. The property sits at the bottom of a very steep driveway. The drive was covered in thick ice & snow. I would think in the rainy muddy season you might have similar issues. This was the only problem we had & there was no one local to assist us even though the Vacasa contact line said someone would help us. We did end up with a trip to the ER (a leg got rolled over by the vehicle as we tried to push our way up the hill) spending time & money (which we were told to submit local store receipts) on de-icer & sand & shoveling a path to the door since we stopped driving down the hill to park. The home was clean, modern & pretty well stocked. I think they are slowly updating furniture -there were a couple patio chairs in the living room for seating. I topped them with the extra fluffy blanks on hand & we were comfy. TVs were in each room -on the floor in 2 rooms. We only used the living room TV, so no issue for us. The fireplace was fabulous & cozy. The kitchen pretty w/new appliances & stocked sort of hodge podge, but we made breakfast & lunches & had what we needed. Bathroom downstairs was great. Nice, new shower. Washer & dryer in a good sized laundry room was perfect for us to store luggage & stay prepped for snowy days & wedding events. Closets had plenty of hangers. We really liked the house, communication could vastly improve the experience. It would behelpful to have a book with housekeeping details, as well as, local shops, grocery, & restaurant suggestions. Cle Elum has some very nice local offerings -highlighting them would be a bonus. We had wedding events to attend so we stayed pretty busy & the kid with the bum leg couldn’t do much anyway. Check out was not labor intensive, I can’t stand messes so we kept it clean. We adjusted the thermostat, started a load of wash & ran the dishwasher on the way out, no mention what to do with trash. Overall we liked the place, opportunities exist: align & improve communication, finish sprucing up the furnishings & this becomes a really great find!
