Fantastic!
We just stayed here for a girls trip and the house was perfect! It had everything we needed and we loved the location. House is very clean and well kept! Plenty of space for all of us to gather in the kitchen and dining room areas, which was so nice! We can’t wait to go back!

Girls trip
The house did not disappoint. Great location, plenty of room and very clean. The kitchen was very well stocked with utensils and they even provided coffee and condiments. We enjoyed watching multiple deer from the upper deck. My only concern was that there wasn’t a hair dryer in any of the 3 bathrooms.

Beautiful and quiet
We had a wonderful time! The property was spotless. There was ample room to move about and not feel like we were in each other’s business. The outside space was well maintained and very open. There’a a winery just down the road, technically walking distance but no shoulder and some blind spots on rolling hills. We spent some time at a cool Castle playground about a 20 minute drive from the house and did a great hike at Giant City State Park. It’s such a wonderful spot for a getaway to relax and enjoy nature.

Weekend wedding celebration
In town to to attend a wedding celebration at Starview Vineyards. The Honey Hideout was spacious for our large group. There were bedrooms downstairs and upstairs so we were able to spread out. Large kitchen was nice to gather as a group as well as a living space downstairs. The large deck was perfect for morning coffee and enjoying the view. Backyard was well kept with a nice space for enjoying the fire pit.

Wonderful!
This was the PERFECT place to gather with friends for a wine trail birthday celebration. The house is an awesome space for a group gathering. The kitchen was huge and the dining area was spacious as well. The outdoor area and desks were so peaceful. The house was super clean! The master bathroom was so nice. This place is next door to Star View winery! The host was awesome and answered all questions promptly. We will definitely stay again!

Great for families!
We stayed for our daughter’s graduation at SIU. It was great to be able to stay in the same house and the kids had a fun time playing in the play area. We had plenty of room to not feel crowded. This house is plenty big! The kids had fun watching the birds and deer that came through the yard. Very clean.

Great House/Excellent Location
This was or annual girls trip to the wine trail; mothers, daughters, sisters cousins and friends and this house did not disappoint. It was so clean and spacious and very very well appointed. The firepit was amazing and there was plenty of firewood. Always plenty of hot water, which with all girls is pretty important and good water pressure! Bathrooms were clean as were all the rooms. We had a fantastic time! Thank you MIchelle!! You were an excellent host. We will be back!!

Great house for large groups
Our family stayed at the Honey Hideout over Labor Day weekend. The house is spacious and well appointed. We had everything we needed. There were nine adults in our party, and we had plenty of room to gather. The fire pit was a nice touch. There were plenty of indoor and outdoor games to entertain us.

Great stay, lovely house!
Our whole family loved this house! It was roomy but still felt cozy and has a great deck and yard for kids to run around. It is very convenient to wineries and outdoor adventures in Shawnee. It was very clean and had everything we needed. I would highly recommend!

Motorcycle trip
Great place! Lot's of space to spread out. Very convenient for large groups. We really enjoyed our stay. Michelle is very attentive. When we got to the home with 2 veicals and trailers loaded with motorcycles there were some fallen trees on the drive way. It wasn't a hassle we drove around them. I reached out to Michelle and let her know. The next day they were removed. Thanks to her we were able to use the drive way the rest of the trip. The home is beautiful and very clean. I would recommend this home to anyone.

Wonderful getaway
My five friends and I stayed at the Honey Hideout for a long weekend and had a fantastic time! The house was clean and spacious and had everything we needed. We loved all the beds and bathrooms, and we really enjoyed spending time on the deck. And you can't beat the proximity to StarView! Michelle was a great host and quick to respond to all the questions we had about the house and area. We would absolutely recommend staying here!

Wonderful graduation weekend
Our family stayed for SIU graduation weekend. The owners were very easy to get a hold of. They also left a graduation card and bottle of wine for my husband’s graduation. Our family loved the house. Everything was clean and just as described. We ended each day watching the deer walk through the yard. The kids playroom and the adult game room were a big hit. There is a winery just a short distance away. We will definitely return!

Great Time at the Honey Hideout
Great house in rural southern Illinois! Kitchen has everything you could need and is nicely labeled so you can find things. I played Uno with the kids one night around the large game table. I even won! There are magnetic darts and soft axe throwing. There are SO MANY movies to chose from. We watched Napoleon Dynamite on our last night. The fire pit is AMAZING! We made s’mores and the kids loved hammocking. I don’t know how the owners did it, but we had beautiful weather, too! Lovely area to visit! We would certainly love to stay here again. Thank you, Michelle!

Most beautiful wedding
My daughter and her new husband got married in the back yard. Their wedding party was able to stay the night with them the two nights we had the home. We had a very beautiful, intimate wedding and a wonderful weekend over all.

Fun family vacation
We had a great spring break at the Honeybee - plenty of room for 2 families with lots of kids aged 3 - 9. Kids enjoyed exploring the grounds, smores around the firepit and adults enjoyed the poker table. We had a great time in the area: hiking, horseback riding and visiting wineries. We had 2 strange incidents related to neighbors, but they didn't ruin our trip and they weren't related to the Honeybee owners. Overall a fun vacation and a beautiful property.

Great Family Option
Beautiful property & fantastic location next door to the Starview winery (walkable!) plenty of space to stretch out with multiple friends or larger family gathering. Bedrooms on 2 levels and great deck overlooking the yard & darling firepit area outside. We lucked out and the trees were all blossoming for perfect spring getaway.
