Great Concan Stay
We stayed in cabin #1 and enjoyed our stay. The listing was not clear that we had to bring our own sheets, and if I had known that, we would have booked elsewhere. The email sent after booking gave more information that would have been helpful to know before booking:
"What to bring….
• Cabin 1 need linens for 1 King and 3 Queen sheet sets
• Towels are not provided
• Chairs – Bring folding or sack chairs to take to the river
• Water – Bottled water is recommended
• Personal… Body soap, bar soap, shampoo, conditioner, and hair dryer.
• Misc.…. Charcoal / lighter fluid / lighter
We provide 1 roll of paper towels, coffee filters, coffee, 2 rolls toilet paper for each bathroom, dish soap for kitchen sink, soap for dishwasher, trash bags, comforters, pillows, cleaning products, mattress pads & extra blankets."
There was one kitchen hand towel, and one bathroom handtowel, but you had to bring an extra hand towel for the second bathroom. The cabin was well stocked with kitchen and cleaning tools/supplies.
The owners were very responsive and very attentive. The pool was a welcome addition. It would have been helpful to have a clothes line in the front of the cabin between the pillars to hang wet swim suits, etc. since there is no washer and dryer. A shower station at the pool would be helpful since the it was a saltwater pool.
The location is great for Garner State Park (bring your swim gear), and minutes away from the Frio Bat cave, which is highly recommended. The cabin is in a row with several others, so not the most private, and right off the highway, so easy access as well as occasionally loud trucks driving by, which were not noticable at night.
The porch rocking chairs were great to view amazing sunsets, and the outdoor picnic table and grills are very nice. The table inside only has seating for four, even though the cabin listing is for sleeping eight, so you have to rotate eating/sitting.
