My husband and I booked this place because we wanted to see some sights around Lewisburg and Covington and drive to the Cass scenic Railway about 1.5 hours away . By the way , if you go there, bring a map because you lose GPS when you get closer to it , but highly recommend ! We had great weather the whole time , easy access to different places , including taking a tour of The Greenbrier Hotel. The groundskeeper of this cottage , Natalie, was very friendly and informative . We were cool with the air and warm with the baseboard heater . Place was clean and bed comfortable ! I’m a light sleeper , so if you are too, bring ear plugs or some kind of white noise because the road noise from the highway at night is the only negative about our stay . Otherwise , a very nice stay !

Cozy
A cute little cabin in a good location for our needs. Many things to do all over the place from the cabin. There is road noise both from Interstate 64 and from Midland Trail on both sides of the property, but it wasn't bothersome. To sleep and in the evenings was the only time spent at the cabin, so much to see around the area. Overall, we had a very nice six night stay.

cozy cottage and great yard
We had a great time. We came up for a weekend of fly fishing and hiking with our dog. The huge fenced-in yard made that a pleasure rather than a challenge. As other reviewers have noted, it's great to sit on the front porch and watch the dog run around/explore. And the bread from the local bakery that was there when we arrived was a very nice treat. Sandra and Natalie were great hosts. We were fly fishing 10 minutes away; so, this was a perfect location for us. It's also close to Lewisburg if you want to head over for more restaurants. We mostly enjoyed relaxing here. Other reviews have noted the noise from cars--the cottage sits 20-30 back from the road it's on, and 64 is fairly close. Yes, you can hear cars, but it didn't bother us at all. We will definitely come back and stay again if we're in the area again!

It was okay
The house was a nice little get away from daily life. However it was dirty, we had to clean and clean just to enjoy without worrying about stepping on something or our dog eating cigarette butts off the floor. There were previous piles of dog defecation in the yard. Bag of open chips under the bed. Small things that made it a nuisance. The highway sounds were nice to hear as background and at night the stars were amazing. Its within range to stores and things to see. Just needed cleaned.

Lovely little house!
We had a wonderful stay in this sweet little house! Natalie is a perfect host and very helpful! We had everything we needed for our stay and we were pleasantly surprised at how well stocked the kitchen was! The fenced in yard was fabulous and our dogs loved being able to play and run while we enjoyed sitting on the porch. The fresh bread and flowers were a lovely surprise as well. I highly recommend this great little house and we hope to visit again soon!

Nice Little College
Cottage was very clean and tidy with everything I needed for my stay! Though there is road noise, don’t let it deter you from selecting this little house. I did not even notice the road noise at night. I will definitely stay here again!

Great little cabin!
We were in the area to go fly-fishing on the Jackson River. This cabin was conveniently located and very clean and comfortable. The porch area was a little noisy due to the nearby highways, but it was still very pleasant to sit there and look at the stars in the evening - and when it was time to sleep, the bedroom was quiet. The fresh flowers and peanut butter cookies were a really nice touch.

Beautiful Area
This rental is in a very beautiful area. You must check out the stars at night. It is very close to many parks and hiking trails. Lots to do. It is also very close to some good eats but we did cook and eat in a few nights because we enjoyed the place so much. Dog friendly and very easy check in and check out procedure.

Comfortable place to stay for just the 2 of us. Beautiful area to be. The king bed is very comfortable. Shower pressure is great. The welcome bread was sooooo delicious! Fresh flowers in the kitchen. Very nice place to stay while we were visiting family.

Wonderful!
We loved The Little Cottage! Very relaxing! Even though it's right below the interstate; you really couldn't hear the traffic inside. Very nicely furnished and the fully equipped kitchen was very nice.

Cute cottage, inaccurate listing description of policy
We really liked the cottage for what it is. It is very cute and well maintained. However, we specifically looked for a property where we could have our dogs with us. This listing states that the property is pet friendly and allows pets for an extra fee per pet. We booked it and paid the extra pet fees. Upon arrival, there was a note on the bedroom door that stated "no dogs in the bedroom." This stipulation was not anywhere on the listing, nor was it on the extra information sheet sent to us after booking. There was only the living room and the bedroom to this cottage. So we paid the extra pet fees for the entire cottage, but our dogs were only allowed in half of it. We found this unacceptable after having paid the extra pet fees. Had this been made clear in the description, we would have chosen a different property. The other reviews mentioned noise from the highway, but I didn't realize it was so close that I could throw a stone to one side and land on the interstate, and to the other side and land on a busy road. Not quite the quiet country retreat we were envisioning. The tradeoff is that our dogs loved the big fenced yard. We enjoyed seeing them run and play without a leash.

Weekend getaway
We had a lovely stay at the cottage with our pups. The cottage fit our needs perfectly, and it was close by several enjoyable attractions. The bed was cozy, the window units cooled the placed very well, and the fenced in yard was perfect for our dogs. The wifi worked well. Everything was as described.

Peaceful and homey for a solo trip
Great spot to have a getaway and enjoy the mountains. The hosts were attentive and responsive, and the bread and flowers were a welcome touch. Close proximity to hiking (I spent a lot of time in Douthat Sate Park, about 30 minute drive) and nearby towns. Lexington, Sulpher Springs, and Lewisburg were fun to check out, lots of cute shops. The Asylum makes a fantastic burger and offered yummy local beer. While other reviewers are right about the noise from the roads, this did not stop me from enjoying coffee, breakfast, evening cocktails, yoga, and a good book on the pleasant front porch. Thank you Natalie for a lovely stay!
