"If you are looking for peace, quiet and the experience of remote living in Scotland the White House is just perfect. Car necessary as it’s a 25 min drive to nearest town with facilities. We had hired cars which was just as well as there was no way our own cars could have coped with the terrain and the snowy weather. "The property was clean and comfortable with all the facilities expected. The garden was spectacular with red squirrels, rabbits and plenty of wildlife. The collection of books and artworks in the house was much appreciated. This is not a property if for those wanting flashy or ultra modern but it is a fabulous place to stay to enjoy the Cairngorms."

"Layout and size of the home was very good. Amenities were good, the entry from the drive was spacious and there were plenty of bathrooms. Front garden was pleasant to sit out in. The view from behind the property was beautiful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. "

"This property was exactly as expected and really good value. The location is lovely and really convenient for hiking, mountain biking and all the area has to offer. Ballater is very close (less than 10 min cycle). Interior is exactly as in the photos. Plenty of space for boots, coats etc. Comfortable beds with lovely linen. "

"Wonderful cottage in a great location with which to explore the Cairngorms. The cottage itself was clean, bright, easy to find, and had everything you could need. Check in was easy and the owners were very helpful and communicative. Most everything you could need is in Ballater, a couple of miles away, including a grocery, petrol station, health center, and a number of restaurants and pubs. "What a beautifully unique place to stay! We were in the Gamekeeper's bothy and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was clean and spacious and the wood stove kept us plenty warm! We never saw any red squirrels but I did see a beautiful jay that was so different from the blue jays we have in the US. I would stay here again in a minute!"
