We arrived after a day of work and a 3.5 hour car ride up from South FL, so we didn't get in the area until well after 10pm, and boy was it spooky out there trying to find this place! But, directions were great and the effort to get there only added to the appeal and seclusion of this property.
My wife and kids loved it! my 8 year old son was outside fishing as soon as he could in the AM, my wife and I enjoyed our morning coffee from the main deck facing the waterway, my youngest guy vegged on the couch watching cartoons until we spun things up!
We used this property as our base to go scalloping and then hit 7 sisters springs the following day, and it did not disappoint! There are a few nice restaurants nearby and if you don't mind driving a bit there are more around the neighboring towns, about 15-20 minutes either way.
We spent most of our time out and about but really enjoyed when we could just relax at the property and just take it all in.
My suggestions are to make sure you have plenty of bug spray, the owners warn you, but man.... don't even forget to put that stuff on going outside for even 5 minutes, it's 4 days later and my whole family is still paying for that error, lol! its the no-see-ums, they suck! However, we did do things properly for the majority of the time and even enjoyed a fire pit on saturday night.
Bring food and plenty of it, if you think you want it or may need it, bring it. It's about 20 mins to Winn-Dixie or Publix, either way!
