My husband and I, along with 5 grown children enjoyed our stay very much. The bedrooms on each floor, with their own bathrooms and thermostats, gave everyone comfortable privacy and space. The beds were very comfortable and the house was clean. The many decks allowed for relaxation outdoors together to enjoy the amazing colors of the leaves and the rec room was a big hit in the evenings with all of us gathered down there for some competitive pool tournaments! A plus was being able to bring our dogs. There is a bridge, just outside of the house, with many steps to the stream below and trails that lead to the lake behind the house. We enjoyed the exercise!
The cons were that there was very little toilet paper when we arrived so we had to drive 25 min each way to the store to get toilet paper- after the 10 hour drive to get there. Bring your own soap, body wash, shampoo and paper towels too. Also, driving quite a ways to take trash to a trash center every few days was a minus. The driveway is extremely steep which was a surprise but doable. There is a ring doorbell camera, which we would expect, but there was a camera In the house on top of the kitchen cabinet that was pointed to view the family room and kitchen area. That felt like a violation of our privacy and made us a bit uncomfortable. We turned it around but just weren’t expecting that.
The pros definitely outweighed the cons by far. The house is beautiful and spacious and the view is hard to beat! Highlands and Cashiers are only a 25-30 minute drive for shops, breweries and restaurants. Randy, the owner, responded quickly to concerns.
Great place for a large family or multiple couples to vacation!
