Despite the cottage being quite old, it was very clean inside and well presented. The welcome basket of provisions was a nice touch. It is positioned only a 2 min walk to the main street of Daylesford, which is very convenient. The road was quite busy with noisy trucks & traffic during the day, however it was quiet at night, so not a problem. The cottage has everything you require for a short stay, and is quite spacious. We did however identify a few maintenance issues that we felt need to be addressed by management:
1. The driveway is in extremely poor condition, uneven and rough with crumbling bitumen and big potholes and quite hazardous. We were glad we were driving a large 4WD.
2. The entry is from the rear carpark area, which has a drainage problem and was quite muddy. We had to place a few outdoor mats on the muddy ground to use as stepping stones to get from the car to the cottage to avoid traipsing mud inside.
3. The front verandah deck has some nails that are sticking out of the timber, some as far as 1cm, so are very painful to step on.
Despite these things, we enjoyed our stay, and would recommend the cottage for those wanting somewhere close to the centre of town.
