"It is a nice peaceful resort. The staff especially in the resurant and pool side was so nice and friendly. The main drawback with this resort is it's not a good place during rainy season as it's on the bank of estuary. As the river water comes with force during rainy season the sea is muddy and cannot swim or play in the sea. The next thing is that the staff in the reception have no answer for anything you ask. If you ask what activities you have nearby they will tell you to Google. Tuk tuk is...

"En relativt sliten anläggning med två-stjärnenivå. Förvänta dig inte mer än så. Fin strand i direkt anslutning till hotellet men ganska långt till Mirissa beach (3km). Helt ok service men inte ett mysigt ställe..."

"Nice hotel and great staff. The room was comfortable and had all we needed. The wifi is great and there is a desk in the room if you need to work. Otherwise the common area is well adapted to coworking too. The food is okay, a bit pricey though (similar to European prices) and the price is displayed in USD. The surroundings were a bit missing restaurants, you would need to take a tuktuk especially at night time because it’s pretty dark. "

"This hotel is one of a kind, the staff is incredible, the views out of this world! The room was honestly my favourite of any place I’ve stayed in all my travels. Clearly next level design and architecture in a very subtle and tasteful way. The spa treatment was wonderful and the cooking class under the banyan tree was magical. The tuktuk service to the main road is a very nice thing to have, tho' we usually walked, wich wasn't that bad either. The rooms were big and nice, the pool area was also very nice. "We stayed at the Spice House for 5 days as part of a 3 week tour of Sri Lanka. Its well placed for easy walking to local restaurants, beaches and sights and the owner was able to arrange transport and guides to further afield locations.Breakfast was always more than ample and very tasty. Set well back from the road its very quiet."
