"Our stay here was fantastic. The cottage was clean, spacious, clean, and well equipped. The staff was very attentive, beginning with precise directions to get there and continuing throughout our stay. The hot tub was great and we had a couple clear nights for star gazing. We highly recommended Middlehead Cottages!!"

"Lovely apartment but needed a thorough clean. Walking bearfooted floors felt gritty and a little sticky. Wooden cabinets in kitchen and living area full of greasy fingerprints. Duvet had about a two inch bloody looking stain on it, brought it to their attention, it was returned later in the day in same condition. Sorry to complain but it really spoilt what was otherwise a lovely stay. Nice staff."

"We really enjoyed our stay here, the property was well equipped with everything you needed for a comfortable stay. I do think the property does need updating a little and it would have been nice if the hot tub had been filled on arrival, the hot tub also needs a cover as unless you like cold feb rain wouldn’t have been enjoyable. "

"We had a great stay in this idealic little village with a pub literally across the road. The location was perfect to explore Yorkshire. Pam & Richard were very welcoming and available but left us to ourselves which we appreciated. The house was warm, the shower hot and the bed comfy. All that you could want. "

"This cottage is represented well by the photographs on the website. It had everything we needed for our stay. We are two adults and two children (15, 12) and there was adequate room for us all. There were no issues with parking directly outside the property, we managed to get a space everytime. Helmsley is a lovely place, everyone was very friendly. This cottage was an excellent base for exploring the nearby area."
We love the character of the property and the location is spot on for that perfect family holiday.

"The property was really clean and spacious. The facilities in the property were excellent. There were a few minor issues, extractor fan in bathroom not working, stitching on the sofa which i reported, but apart from that it was a safe, quiet area and definately worth staying in the property."

"My partner and I (and our dog) stayed at Gemma’s lovely cottage and we couldn’t be happier! Communication was prompt, the cottage was immaculate when we arrived and fully equipped, and the village of Burythorpe was beautiful! Highly recommend popping into the pub across the street as it was lovely. Gemma also provided several great recommendations in the guest book and we are sad that we couldn’t get to everything in our weekend stay! Would definitely come back, thanks Gemma!"

"A very smart apartment in an historic mill. Beds were comfortable. The tv signal was poor but streaming apps were better. The kitchen was well equipped with high end appliances. Sofa was a little small but the rocking chair was a nice addition. The grassy area across the car park was great to exercise the dog. "We loved our stay at Holly Cottage, the kitchen is fabulously equipped, and house has a welcoming friendly decor. The kitchen and snug is a fabulous place to gather and where we spent a lot of our time. Parking at the property was easy, and plenty of room for our 2 cars - but with a car park just around the corner it would be easy with more vehicles. Lovely base to explore so many interesting places. Local cafe just acroos the road was great for bread and milk supplies. Nothing not to love...

"We had a really lovely couple of days stay in the Romany caravan. We were greeted with the warmest of welcomes. Bruce left us the most amazing welcome pack, lots of homemade goodies we were well & truly spoilt. Great little place with stunning views and peace and quiet. Leave your cares behind and go off grid for a few days, I can highly recommend it. Brilliant place for dogs, they are made very welcome with no charge."
