My husband, daughter and I stayed for two weeks in this cottage and had a great time. The location is just wonderful - tucked in a small, forested valley, beautifully quiet apart from the sound of the stream - and with the incredible Cadair Idris vista directly opposite. We could walk directly from the cottage - and cross the estuary for food/drink, which we did several times during our stay. We also enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub in the evenings. In terms of the location generally, it’s easy to get to the coast (Barmouth being closest and a nice little town), explore Snowdonia, visit lots of castles, Portmeirion and more. There are activities for children - we did kayaking on Bala Lake and zip-wiring near Betws y Coed. Two warnings for the cottage - firstly, go steady up the road to it, the passing places are not always where you’d wish they were (though it was actually always fine!)! And, secondly, we are *tall* - we banged heads, shoulders and elbows until we’d got used to a traditional Welsh cottage!! Final thing - in case you misunderstand the perfectly clear instruction as we did(!) - the parking _is_ round the back of the cottage, but accessed via the drive in front (we continued on the road round the back and then had to turn back!).
