We were a group of four seniors, on our first expedition to the Osa peninsula. Discovering Villa de Osa was a gift! The house was wonderfully clean (Thank you, Jenny Atencio!) and well equipped. Three large jugs of bottled water provided all the drinking water we needed for our 6 nights.
Our friends shared the master bedroom w/ bathroom and indoor shower on the main floor, and my husband and I were on the second floor --- a lovely, sunny space with three beds and a half-bath. Our beds were very comfortable and the linens soft and clean.
The house has a hot water heater and a back-up pump to keep water flowing when the village system goes out. The outdoor showers are great for washing off snorkel gear and shoes.
Favorite Space Award goes to the back deck. Spectacular harbor view! Flowers and trees cover the hill leading down to the beach --- lots of birdsong at sunrise (and a brilliant group of scarlet macaws in the afternoons).
Can't beat the location. Right on the main road, we were within walking distance of restaurants, markets and the departure point for transport boats.
Across the street is Martina's Place, a hostel where guides Vincent Campos and Gabi Atencio will arrange excursions (Corcovado Nat'l Park, Caño Island, Mangroves, Night Jungle Hikes). Gabi's brother-in-law Carlos Jinetes provides airport transport.
Dana is a super host. She arranged our airport transport, put us in touch with Gabi & Vincent and was always helpful & accessible. Highly recommend!
