Our experience was a mixed bag. I don’t think the listing accurately portrays how many people the house sleeps. There are really only 3 bedrooms and 1 bathroom that’s accessible to everyone. The 2nd bathroom is through a bedroom which for most of our stay made it unusable for the majority of the group. Also there is no upstairs bathroom so at night must go downstairs to get to it, which was completely unworkable for the older adult in our party.
The rooms over the garage IMO should be used for nothing more than storage. They were unsafe and I cannot believe they meet building or occupancy codes as is. One had 2 twin beds in it, but was really a large closet, with no windows at all.
The beds in the loft area were old and in poor condition. Only usable for young children, yet because they are open to the main living space the natural noise of enjoying the evening after they go to bed would disturb them. The upstairs loft appeared to have not been thoroughly vcauumed, as dead flies and stray socks and tissues from past visitors were under the beds.
There was also a colony of hornets living on the deck and one in our party was stung.
The downstairs area had a clean, cabin vibe. The kitchen was well stocked. The view was amazing and the main living space was comfortable and pleasant. In the evening it was dark and in need of a few more lamps for reading.
Really I would say this house sleeps a maximum of 6 adults comfortably. Since we specifically chose this rental to fit our large, multigenerational family, it was a big disappointment.
Also renters should be aware that the pass to get into Jackson is extremely treacherous, which cut out the possibility of evening activities in Jackson. Since we came for a wedding this was a big deal. I don’t blame the homeowners for that, but people do need to be aware of it.
The agents treated us well and were communicative and accommodating. However although we had booked months in advance, just two weeks before our scheduled arrival we were informed there had been a miscommunication between the property managers and homeowner, and that the house was not available to us after all. They were very nice about it and made efforts to find us alternative accommodations, but put us in a panic. In the end they realized easier to keep us there, but caused a lot of stress.
