The staff were very welcoming and friendly the only gripe we had was the evening meals were not as good as we thought and the price was a little on the high side given the standard of food but on the flip side breakfast was supurb. "I stood at this family guesthouse for four nights when travelling on business in the area during May-June. The rooms are all upstairs, tidy neat, well-lighted and nicely decorated. You enter by their restaurant which, by the way, has very tasty seafood platters every day made by chef Steve, who also prepares an excellent English breakfast every morning. "I was impressed with the lady who ran the hotel that night. She checked me in, instructed me where to park my car, advised where to get dinner because they didn't provide evening meals, served my drink in the bar, laid my table for my brought in take away dinner and then cleared up and still managed to do some cleaning. She made my evening very easy and pleasant. I couldn't ask for more. "

"An excellent location for a walking weekend. Check in from 3.30 only but there’s lovely walks from the village to keep you busy. Check in was good with a friendly welcome. The room was comfortable and clean. You cloud hear the owl in the woods at night it was such a peaceful location. We had a wonderful evening meal, a little more than we might pay at home but it was beautifully cooked and value for money. Breakfast was equally delicious. I had the superfood breakfast. "Russel and Nicky made us feel very welcome and at home , the breakfast are amazing and worth a revisit alone ! The room was clean and tidy , the en-suite was spacious and the views from our windows over the river were great . We had bedroom 3 and the river runs directly outside and the sounds and views of the river are very relaxing . We would highly recommend to anyone wanting a lovely quiet peaceful break with lovely walks right on your doorstep.. we will be back for sure "
