Great spot on the water
Enjoyed The Cove very much. Property has a nice long dock, deck, outdoor fire pit, enclosed porch, comfortable livingroom, kitchen, dining area, 2 bathrooms, 3 bedrooms. We were there in September and it was quiet. Kayaks were available and easy to use from the beach/seawall area. Owner was helpful, and welcoming.

100% Relaxation!
The Cove is one of the best places we have ever stayed! There was so much room, and they had anything and everything we could possibly need. The deck overlooking the water? I could live out there! When the wind got a little chilly, we moved into the sunroom which was warm and inviting with an amazing view. It was so peaceful and beautiful. We are already planning our next trip! Wonderful place with friendly and gracious host!

Heaven on the water
What a simply wonderful house to spend a family weekend visiting my daughter in college. Only 25 minutes from her school the drive was simple. The home was comfortable and fit our family perfectly. The hosts were very easy to communicate with and responsive. I will definitely return.

Peace and Beauty
My friend and I had a girls trip for a few days. We very much enjoyed our stay at this home. The view from both inside the house as well as outside was beautiful. We had amazing weather and gorgeous sunsets. We were there during the week so the river seemed very quiet for our time. Not many boaters were our sailing. The house was clean and comfortable. There was a slight mix up on the lock number to be used to get into the house but a quick call to the owner got that cleared up quickly. We found a welcome note and wine as a welcome which was very thoughtful and appreciated from the property manager. The tv was very impressive as we watched some US Open while we were there. The surrounding area is lovely and we enjoyed a trip into Chesapeake City. I would not hesitate to stay in this home again. Thank you for allowing us to stay!

Relax and Unwind
Beautiful view in an amazing setting. A quick ride away from great shopping and restaurants. Took a canal cruise and canoed right from our own personal dock. Grounds were perfect and so relaxing. The owner saw to every detail. a wonderful vacation.

Wedding Weekend on the Water
My mom, dad, daughter and I were pleasantly surprised when we walked into this charming cottage. It exceeded expectation. The location right on the water with scenic sunsets and fire pit story swapping was exquisite. We loved the cottage furniture and found the kitchen well equipped for cooking needs. The host/owner was responsive and helpful. We made the best memories both at the wedding and on the water.

Fantastic place to vacation!!
What a fabulous place to stay!! The location is beautiful. The house itself is awesome and the decor is super cozy! The host was super helpful via text, but he was very willing to be available in person as well if we needed. The beds were very comfortable. There was enough room for my husband & I, my MIL, my daughter and our two grandchildren. The dock on the river is great and there was a canoe and two kayak's for the guest's use including life vests. The neighborhood is super quiet and there were even two osprey nests with babies on the road out that my grandchildren loved checking out every time we left the house. Our family that we went back to visit even came over to the house a couple of times just to hang out with us because it was so nice. If we need to go back we will definitely be planning our trip to be able to rent here again! Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Wonderful stay!
We had a fantastic week with our grandsons. The property was amazing in every way . Beautiful views , comfortable furniture, plenty of room to relax in . Beds comfortable , supplies abundant , and cleanliness throughout. We used the kayaks , corn hole and badminton set for fun ! We enjoyed every minute and will certainly rent this beautiful home again! Ed, the owner ,stopped by and was extremely welcoming and accommodating . Thank you for a memorable week! Forgot to mention that we were able to enjoy July 4 fireworks in several spots across the river, while sitting on the beautiful deck!

Art on the Waterfront: The Cove doubles as an art gallery
The Cove provided an unsurpassed serene and aesthetically pleasing experience on the waters of the beautiful Elk River. Providing the perfect environment for fishing and evening campfires, the home also offers a veritable art gallery of paintings and prints reflecting the beauty of the landscapes of this area. Our week there fed our desire for adventure and also renewed our appreciation for the subtleties of the artist’s eye.

Cozy and spectacular
Our family (4 adults) rendezvous-ed here for Thanksgiving and found the house so appealing that we never even wanted to go explore the area. The views are beautiful from all over the house, the deck, dock, and fire pit are right outside, the house itself is cozier than most rentals and feels like a real home. Beds are comfortable, kitchen is equipped for substantial cooking, dining table is large enough for a festive meal and board games afterward. We all loved it.

Wonderful family gathering!
We came back to the area to host a pre-Thanksgiving gathering for family who all lived close by. The Cove was a wonderful place for all of us to enjoy each other’s company and be grateful!! We had a great stay at this house. The living room, sunroom and deck are great places to read a book and the tv in the living room is nice. The beds in the two main bedrooms were very comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked and the dining area is nice. Good wifi. The property manager was great.

An exceptional finding.
This cozy cottage is just like the photos…spacious, attractive, well stocked and maintained. Pets welcome with big fenced yard. Appliances top quality. A quiet restful place to stay and explore the area. We crabbed from the dock & enjoyed the kayaks. The friendly owner visited to determine if we had additional needs. This rancher is all one level but there are 1 + 2 steps between areas . I would definitely plan to stay here again.

Wonderful Escape!!
My husband and I decided to get away for the holiday weekend and happened upon Ed's listing. We are thrilled we found it!! We rent quite a bit, so feel very experienced in evaluating vacation rentals.This home, space and location are terrific! The house is nice and spacious ,comfortable, and charming! The views of the water are fantastic! We sat outside each night in the lovely Adirondack chairs on the lawn, just soaking in the gorgeous sunsets and the changing sky. If it happens to be raining outside, the views can still be enjoyed from the lovely sunroom. Ed has really worked hard to provide a complete experience; the outdoor space is ideal for families, complete with a huge yard, volleyball/badminton net, kayaks, a canoe, a fire pit, a large dock, and plenty of seating on the deck and in the yard. For lazy nights, the nice, sizeable TV is a bonus! Having air conditioning on the very hot days we have now is a must, and it runs very well. Some pluses to add...plenty of hot water for showers, a very large, comfortable king-sized bed in the front bedroom, and two bottles of wine to greet us as a welcome gift from the owner, Ed. We loved our time here and hope to be back sooner than later! * We would not recommend this spot to anyone with mobility issues, as there are several tricky step-ups and downs to get from space to space, three steps up to the front door and some unevenness to the flooring. (Just because it's gorgeous, old wooden flooring that has natural wear.)
