If you're a fan of Hometown, and even if if you're not, this is a GREAT escape from the hustle and bustle of normal life! The extra touches such as the cool welcome booklet and information about local eats, etc, are really nice. You can tell that these people really care and want to provide a great experience for you!
Super easy and convenient check-in and check-out procedure. This place is really clean and nice with no weird smells. The bed is comfy and the bathroom is nice with a spacious shower and full-size stacked washer/dryer.
The kitchen was impressive! Not just the beatiful countertops with tons of space, but it is also stocked with more cookware and utensils than most homes! There was also a great selection of seasonings, spices, and oils. I tried some of the spices on our eggs one morning and that afternoon we went to the Knight Butcher in Laurel and I bought a bunch to take back to TN with me!
The cabin is equipped with a nice TV with a Roku attached, and the wi-fi was plenty fast for our needs. On the inevitable rainy day, this is a great place to cozy up on the couch and binge old episodes of Hometown. Then when the rain subsides, you're just15 minutes from many of the other houses renovated on the show!
I am also an amateur musician and guitar player, and it was super cool that there was an Epiphone acoustic guitar there to play! I DIDN'T bring a guitar on this trip since we were only going to be gone for a few days, so this was a pleasant surprise and it really made a connection to Kevin and this house for me.
To sum it all up, this is the PERFECT place to stay if you're visiting Laurel or Ellisville, particularly if the draw for you is the show "Hometown." You probably appreciate nice things, subtle touches that show care and effort, and are a kind person who appreciates peace and rest while enjoying the opportunity to step away from busy city life and appreciate the slower pace of small-town life. This is the place for you.
