This property was fantastic, except for a few issues: the bugs were relentless, the household appliances had issues, and the light switches were all over the place.
When we arrived at the property, there were over 8 flies in the property. We were provided a fly swatter and bug spray, but otherwise we had no other tools to deal with the bugs. In the master bathroom and kitchen, there were numerous fruit flies as well (some came leaping out of the refrigerator). Outside in the pool, we had the hugest flies we have ever seen dive-bombing the pool and drowning themselves - at its peak (morning) we counted two flies per minute. Of course, we are out in the woods and some level of bugs are expected, but so too was a bug zapper or some method of bug control.
The household appliances had a handful of obstacles for us to overcome: the freezer door did not close properly, the air-fryer tray was covered in oil and grease, the outdoor grill was not cleaned, the lockbox on property we were referred to had a spider living in it, the ceiling fan in the living room was rickety. The fireplace in the living room could not turn on (as far as we could tell), there was only a single AC unit (versus a control HVAC system) so the house remained uncomfortably warm, and halfway through our stay, the ceiling above the kitchen sink began dripping water all over the floor when the upstairs bathroom was in use.
Finally, not a single light switch in the property was labeled. We spent thirty minutes flipping switches on and off to get the master bedroom light working, only to find out at the end that you must press a button that also rotates outside of the master bedroom to turn it on. Truly, labels for all the switches will save everyone time in the long run.
An additional note: The pool was not covered and had debris and confetti scattered throughout. We could not locate the pool cover per the hosts' instructions to cover it overnight.
We did like the property, to be clear. We had a great time despite all of the above issues, but our peeve with them is that the solutions seem pretty straight forward and easy (apart from clear appliance issues that require real work to fix): clean out the small stuff (the pool, the flies, etc.), and label your switches (backyard light, bedroom light, etc.).
Bonus recommendation: Add curtains to the master bathroom's deck doors. They open completely to the backyard and anyone on the deck can look in and see you showering/bathing.
