Couldn't have been better!
We were a tad nervous coming down right after Hurricane Debby, but Doug was fantastic about communicating and responding to us. The property was just as expected from the listing and reviews. NO COMPLAINTS! Plenty of towels, kids sand toys, beach chairs, and the kitchen was well stocked! We were even notified in advance there was a problem with the washer, but a technician was scheduled to come check it out. The washer wasn’t going to be a quick fix, so the owner delivered a brand new one the next day! We would stay here again!

Great stay !
Clean house, quick response from owner, pool/hot tub area was key when the weather wasn’t great. Beach is a short walk away and you can hear the ocean at night. Would definitely visit again.

Nice clean home with plenty of amenities… plenty of kitchen dish ware, utensils, air fryer, grill, etc. lots of sand toys for kids, beach wagon and beach chairs. Pool and hot tub are well maintained and nice close walk to the beach. Only things I’d note is the driveway is steep, just May be helpful to know, and seating. Home accommodates 10 but seating in kitchen was only for 5, so unless outside hard to all sit together. Overall is a nice home and we enjoyed our time

Great Vacation Home!
We are repeat guests and just love this house - location is perfect, and the amenities are key! We love the pool, the amazing backyard, personal touches, ships watch lookout deck, and the overall boho design of the house - such a great vibe! Doug is very responsive and a great host. Thanks for a wonderful vacation spot!

Lovely stay in the trees
My family of five had a wonderful visit. Easy walk to the beach - loved the pool and hot tub. Kitchen had everything we needed. House was VERY clean and well organized. I was expecting lounge chairs by the pool (as they were in the listing photos when I booked) but there were none - only disappointment. Enjoyed the provided beach toys and chairs, wagon was hard to pull due to rust but happy to not have had to bring our own. Would stay here again. Thanks for a great stay!

Private Oasis
Great property overall! The decks are perfect ! Especially the upper deck for morning coffee and ocean views! The outdoor space is superb ! The privacy fence helped reduce the wind and we were able to enjoy the pool daily !! And it’s only April ! The kitchen was well stocked to cover your needs. Love the decor as well ! We’ve been coming to Emerald Isle for many years and have always used the reality companies. This was our first VRBO rental and it was a great experience . Only recommendation would be some extra pillows and warmer blankets for the chilly spring

A great beach house for a family
It was a short walk to the beach. It was beautifully decorated and had activities both inside and outside the house. My grandchildren especially enjoyed the pool, hot tub and fire pit. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would love to stay here again.

Thanksgiving at Emerald Isle
The Island Son was everything we needed and more for our family Thanksgiving trip to Emerald Isle! Doug was very responsive and helpful when we encountered an issue with the pool during our stay (did I mention that the pool heater he installed allowed our kids to swim in November?!?) His pool guy was quick to resolve the issue, on Thanksgiving morning even! We had everything you could possibly need to prepare a full thanksgiving meal in the kitchen; and everything was perfectly curated for a seamless and comfortable stay within walking distance to the beach! The crows nest was the perfect spot to enjoy your morning coffee and take in the views of the sunrise and sunset! We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay on the island! We will absolutely visit again soon!

I've stayed at multiple rentals on the island and I got to say this is my favorite spot by far! Nice private pool and spa as well as plenty of space to hang out. Responsive host and no surprises. Great experience!

Our BEST stay in Emerald Isle to date!
We have come to Emerald Isle yearly for over ten years. This was our first time not staying in an oceanfront property and were unsure if it was going to be as enjoyable. It ABSOLUTELY EXCEEDED our expectations!! This house is beautiful and the owners have done an impeccable job decorating and accommodating their guests! We loved the pool, the hot tub, the rooftop deck, the game room, the beautiful bedrooms and bathrooms! We will absolutely stay here again and it was 100% worth not being directly on the ocean.

Wonderful beach stay for girls trip
Property was awesome for us! Had everything we enjoyed - easy access to beach, pool, hot tub, fire pit, and separate area for a little office work. House was clean, well stocked for our needs of kitchen appliances, and beach supplies. We all just had the best time here! Only negative was our week flew by!

The first of more to come
Our first time in th EI and it did not disappoint. Prior to our arrival, Doug was very helpful and communicative in addressing all of our questions regarding our stay. Location, location, location! This place has it with just a short walk to the beach. If you need a break from the beach, the pool and hot tub were amazing! We had lots of fun playing pool games and lounging. You simply can not beat the views from the top deck. Great place to relax at night and take in the sunset. We were very pleased with the cleanliness. The sheets smelled good! 😊 I would mention that the drive way and stairs are steep and could be an issue for those physically challenged. We handles it fine but it is something to be considered. We booked for next year! We are hooked on the Emerald Isle! Thanks, Doug!

Excellent Emerald Isle Home
This place was perfect for our two small families. The kids loved the playroom and the adults enjoyed having our own separate area indoors. The outside areas are amazing and private. Besides the pool and hot tub, there are lots of cozy spots to relax in. Location is just a short walk away from beach and some local shops. Highly recommend this house!

Another amazing stay!
This was our 4th year staying here, and it wont be our last! The updates to the house this were lovely - from the coasters and new bedspreads, to the painting on the patio - and we are already looking forward to our next stay. We always enjoy the great location that's a short walk to the beach, the private back yard, and comfortable home. Thanks again!

Beautiful family, friendly home
Very beautiful and clean property. Comfortable and family friendly. The property had a lot to offer in terms of activities in the yard/on the porches, and allowed plenty of space for everybody. The widow's peak porch was gorgeous and the yard was very well kept. The kitchen was well stocked with cookware. Family members enjoyed doing different activities in the yard while still being together. A few detractors: the ice maker produced ice at an extremely slow rate, so we had to purchase bags of ice. TVs were slow and did not always turn on. There was an abundance of "lawn shrimp" in the pool, having a pool vac available would have been nice. Lastly, the driveway to the property is EXTREMELY steep. Healing from a broken foot, I was unable to walk down the driveway. I did not know this when I reserved, however any parties traveling with handicapped family members should be advised. This would not be a suitable home to leave and walk to the beach without an alternative way down the drive. Overall, the residence was beautiful and my family had a very enjoyable time. We would definitely return to this property for our next stay.

Great experience at Island Son!
My family of 6 adults and 2 children just finished our week vacation here. We had an excellent time and our host was the best answering questions and any concerns within minutes. We only had one issue with the grill one evening and by noon the next day our host was there with a brand new grill. The location to the beach was wonderful with easy access. The house was very clean and kitchen had all the daily items you would need. The private pool was perfect and the view of the ocean from the third floor was where we loved spending our evenings visiting. We enjoyed our stay and I highly recommend this rental.

Great vacation!
The house is great, it was clean and had a beautiful pool and hot tub. The location allows for an easy walk to the beach and lots of other locations are within walking distance or a short drive.
