Sri Lanka off the tourist trail

Beautiful location, quiet, sandy beach, large gardens and sea to swim in!All within walking distance. Take a tuk tuk to the local “high street”and choose your own fish for dinner cooked by a superb chef! Chill on the veranda watching the array of beautiful birds and knock down a coconut to mix your own cocktail! Sleep soundly under the mosquito nets and awake to the fabulous dawn chorus of the local birds and a flat Indian Ocean on your doorstep. Be pampered by your hosts who will arrange massages, trips and just welcome and make you feel at ease during your stay

Relaxation at Khomba

We had a nice relaxing time at Khomba. We were looked after very well by the resident staff. The standard of cooking was exceptional. The house is located with a beach accessed directly from the property. The area is very quiet with hotels on each side now closed after the pandemic and returning to nature. Another hotel close by has a fantastic pool which is available to use. There were a couple of basic bicycles which we used to cycle around the local villages. The accommodation is of a good standard and very comfortable with plenty of room for relaxation. There is fast WiFi available.

Perfect in every way.

Khomba Beach House was our first stop during our 17-day trip through Sri Lanka. It's a gorgeous place with a very secluded beach at the end of a well-maintained garden. The team looking after us were amazing. The lunches and dinners consisted of a delicious variety of Sri Lankan curries; cake served in the afternoon was a big hit with the children. The bedrooms were incredibly comfortable and within earshot of waves lapping on the shore, and the ensuite bathrooms have fabulous open-air showers. It was the perfect stay at the start of our trip.

Paradise away from it all

This was a wonderful spacious villa on a beautiful beach half way up the peninsula, away from everything. And that was heaven for us. Nothing was too much trouble for the wonderful couple looking after us. Sisara was a fantastic host and made sure everything ran so so s monthly. And Indrani is a great chef and we were so indulged with wonderful Sri Lankan food, salads and seafood. I simply can’t recommend this villa highly enough. There is a lovely green with a carp pond and bridge over it, a double swing and a palm covered hut on the beach with chairs and a table for sundowners. My daughter did kite surfing at a school about 30 minutes away in a tuk tuk (and had excellent one to one tuition), and I just chilled after my non stop cultural trip around Sri Lanka. A word of warning as with so many beachside properties the road to it is very very bumpy so warn your driver! But that, as I said , is normal.

Fantastic stay at Khoma house

Our stay at Khomba house was superb with the staff being very attentive and helpful. The food was delicious and Indrani worked tirelessly in the kitchen to ensure we were well catered for. We couldn't get enough of the local seafood! The excursions were well organised and we didn't have to worry about anything as Sisera the General Manager took care of all the details. One aspect we enjoyed was the local wildlife and we would often watch the squirrels, lizards and butterflies go about their business. One day I saw 4 peacocks walk through the garden which was a surprise. The gardens were lovely and the beach adjacent to the property was excellent for bathing with the kids and chasing small crabs. The property is in a remote location but doesn't really take away from the experience as you can still use the facilities in neighbouring resorts which are a short walk away. The local town is a short tuk tuk ride away and if you wanted there was a bigger supermarket in Puttalam accessible within a 40 min drive. We did some kitesurfing and found that Kappalady lagoon was handy for us about 30 mins up the coast. I would definitely recommend this property to those with young kids and others wanting to relax in a remote location with nice ambience.
