We needed a stopping ground for exploring Redwoods National Park and Humboldt in general - this was the perfect stop. We were a little wary driving in since the neighborhood is older. It's close to 101 as well and I dislike highway noise. BUT we absolutely grew to love this house. It was sunny and comfortable. Very quiet inside. The living room was beautiful, the view of the bay was wonderful, sunsets were amazing, and we loved the fully stocked kitchen. Good wifi. The kitchens and bathrooms are completely dated but if you are a 70s child then it makes you nostalgic. Beds were comfy and we all slept well. Loved the fireplace too. They warned us about ants in the kitchen and we did have to deal with them but not too bad. If you like a cozy, homey pad, this is great for you. If you want something more up to date, you'd have to keep looking (there isn't a ton of choices in the area and I wouldn't want to stay in the city of Eureka - too run down and doesn't seem incredibly safe at night). I do agree with prior comments that they could use a few more comfy chairs. We found a million good trails nearby to hike and it was only a hour to the national park.
