"Withi-Gill was a beautiful cottage in a remarkable landscape -- views of Hoy and Graemsay were beautiful (when the weather cooperated, which was most days), and with a short walk, views of much of the western part of Mainland Orkney, including Stromness. The facilities were great, and the cottage was well-equipped for our needs. There's access to a small beach across the road and down a short track along the former millrun. "Superb location in the centre of Kirkwall. Perfect for the two of us. There was an allocated parking spot for this particular apartment just out side of the front door, but someone else was parked in it for our entire stay. This is just a comment, not a complaint, as there was additional free parking near by which we used instead."

"This location was a great place to stay to explore Orkney. We loved the isolated and peaceful area. Plenty to do and see if you are prepared to drive a few miles. Spectacular cliff top walks with an abundance of bird life. The accommodation has everything you need for a self catering holiday. We stocked up with everything we needed from Tesco in Kirkwall after getting off the ferry. "

Then the harbour front is seconds away Make sure you go into the Albert street car park stay left and turn into, usually a space outside the apartment can park for free. "The island and cottage were exactly what we needed. There was peace and quiet, which allowed us to slow down and breathe. The local residents we met were friendly and welcoming. The island needs a little investment but we really hope mass tourism doesn't ruin its tranquility."
