"I liked it a lot. No complaints really. It's beautiful. The house was clean and very close to the beach and Gils Restaurant. The only complaint was that we could not watch TV much in the evenings because the connection was not the best. Every time we watched a movie, it would lose connectivity, and we never did get see a whole movie. But other than that, we had a fabulous time."

"Our-of-the-way and right on golf course. Very quiet (except for mowing of greens). We had 18 people at maximum occupancy, with beds for almost everyone, and even then, the place didn't seem crowded. We all fit around inside table and outside table, at fire pit (and near grill), for much reminiscing (this was a memorial trip). Three bathrooms, thankfully, not two, and they are well-appointed; true, we had to make a TP run (and also to get coffee filters), but otherwise the place was well-stocked....

"I injured my knee the evening before I was to drive up to King Salmon, so was unable to enjoy Shell Cottage, and too late for any refund! I had stayed previously however, and it was lovely; hence my desire to return."

"We enjoyed every minute of our stay at the farm on top of a hill. The view is unforgettable. The horse next door is friendly too. Very stylish and new. Comfortable beds. Every detail was well thought out from the kitchen organization to the stocked coffee area. This was home base for everything Humboldt could offer, including beaches, redwoods, and good Pizza in Eureka. We will be back for sure!"

"Stayed here for a week in the summer with the family. Location is pretty good. Quiet little street with a partial view of the bay. House is nice, clean and functional. Short drive to old town Eureka and Arcata where the fun/interesting stuff is. Great hub to visit surrounding redwoods, lagoons, nature around here. Very convenient to the zoo/sky walk which the kids loved. "

"Looked for a quiet and clean property with three bedrooms for one couple and two single adults. This fulfilled our expectations and more - we were in town for 3 1/2 days and only left the house once - it was easier for other family in town to come to where we were & everyone loved the location! "For an old Victorian, it was wonderful. Big gap under the door for the adjoining room and there was a snorer that occupied the room. I tried to shove a Towel under the door to close the gap but like most Victorians the walls and doors were thin.. Still loved the property and would recommend it when in Ferndale."

"We had an absolutely wonderful time ; we came to enjoy the town wide yard sale and didn’t want to leave ! The owners were warm and friendly , offered complimentary wine and tea and scones and treats upon arrival, got a tour of the beautiful inn , so you feel so comfortable, delicious breakfast made to your specifications ; all around wonderful time , can hardly wait to go back!!!!
