Will always go back

This is our second time staying in this wonderful home! We took full use of all of the amenities! Using the bikes to get to and from the beach boardwalk was so enjoyable. Take advantage of walking over to the bay! There were manatees everywhere! Thanks Omar for sharing your home. We will be back! Hoping that Mucky Duck and Keylime Bistro will be back open soon! Captiva is our happy place.

Relax in pure comfort

Great trip great house!

What a great house to stay at while in Captiva, big thanks to Omar for being such a great host. My wife and I took our daughter and some friends and they had a blast. We loved the surrounding community, walk to everything. The pool, tennis, pickle ball courts are all in great condition. Access to the beach was very close and convenient. At the house we loved having the amenities such as bikes, beach chairs and umbrellas. The house was great too - modern, clean and great beds. We'll be back!

Sunset Captiva

The house and location couldn’t be better!It’s the perfect spot in Captiva, easy walk to the beach, or just use the pool or pickleball courts right there our small village - such friendly people. The house is very clean and super comfortable - we loved hanging out on the porch or using the pool table downstairs. We also just walked just a few minutes to the restaurants or over to the marina for a dolphin cruise!Omar is a great host - he really made sure we had everything we needed for a great trip!

There were a number of disapointments. No paper towels, napkins or tissues as advertized. The cookware was rusted. The king bed upstairs had a broken slat in the middle of the bed. The downstairs shower only had tepid water and when 60 degrees outside, it was cold. There were no lightbulbs downstairs and no replacements to be found. we found no bike tire pump for the bikes but rode anyway. The outdoor equiptment was good but heavy. luckily family was near.

Hurricanes Galore!

We come to Captiva annually, and this was the second time that we have stayed at Omar's place. It's so beautifully decorated, completely renovated, and everything is so well-appointed. Hurricane Helene had just hit Florida a few weeks prior to our arrival, so we figured we would be safe for this trip. Unfortunately, the day that we arrived, another Tropical Depression developed in the Gulf. It rapidly developed into a Cat 5 Hurricane Milton. We were evacuated by Lee County on Day 3 of our trip. We, unfortunately, had quite a time getting our money back through VRBO, but Omar went to bat for us and got us as much of a refund as he possibly could. Mental note, get cancellation insurance! But, overall, this place is a dream to stay in, and the host went out of his way to make sure that we were made whole.

Great property and owner!

We stayed about a month ago, and had a fantastic time. Very short walk to the beach and pool. The house was actually a little nicer than some pictures. I think a lot of things got redone after the hurricane a couple years ago. Beds were all comfortable too.

Great vacation!

The house has updated bathrooms, comfortable king beds, and tons of beach supplies (chairs, umbrellas, bikes, life jackets, kayaks, paddle boards). Owner reached out to be sure all was good. Best place we’ve stayed in Sunset Captiva!

Island Perfection

Fantastic house for 2 parents and their college-aged kids. The house was comfortable and had everything we needed for a week at the beach. The game room had a pool table which we used every evening (be aware, no ping pong top yet while we were there). Game room/half bath is new construction and has a lot of potential. There were a couple tennis racquets but we mostly played pickleball with the provided set. The courts are newly re-done and in perfect shape. The pool and beach were beautiful and just a couple minutes walk. The small town is coming back nicely after the hurricane—enjoyed meals/treats at The Green Flash, Mucky Duck, Sunshine Seafood, Cantina Captiva (still a food truck but indoor dining coming soon) Captiva Pizza (limited hours, order early if you can), and Boops, all within easy walking distance. We also went to the Sanibel and Captiva farmers markets, well worth your time (best guacamole and ceviche ever, and Molly Malone’s had the best crab cakes and other seafood). Timbers on Sanibel also worth a stop for fresh seafood to cook at home, which we did a few nights, kitchen was stocked with all the essentials. The Island Store is very limited but fine for convenience items (and booze); stock up on groceries at Publix prior to arrival. Omar was extremely responsive and took care of any minor issues immediately. He went above and beyond to ensure we had a great vacation. We hated to leave Captiva and hope to return. Lovely stay!

Amazing place in paradise!

We had a wonderful time in this lovely home. Owner was great to work with and the house was immaculate. Great communication and the house had great immunities. Beautiful beaches and unbelievable sunsets. Short walking distance to store and restaurants. Would definitely come back and highly recommend this house to stay in.

Great family beach house

Newly renovated and very easy to live in for a family vacation by the beach. We've stayed in this beach front community previously and the pool and quick access to beach and several island restaurants is perfect. This particular home is equiped with all the gear for the beach - towels, chairs, umbrellas, a cooler and even bikes; a well stocked kitchen - spices, zip lock baggies, foil and even a sandwich press; as well as a full washer and dryer with laundry detergent available. Our family of 6 was very comfortable all week and we would reccomend!

Location & property amazing!

This home has been recently remodeled and even better than the listing. The host was in contact prior to check in and after. The location is perfect. Steps to the beach, which has amazing sunsets. There is a lovely pool to enjoy. It is walking distance to grocery store, YOLO, Mucky Ducks, Bubble room coffee and dessert cafe, and Starbucks. We highly recommend this accommodation.

Fabulous Holiday

We have stayed at Journey’s End three times and it feels like coming home. Beautifully furnished, comfortable and spacious. Along with the Sunset Captiva facilities of pool, bbq and boardwalk to the beach, we had everything we needed for a wonderful holiday. Following Hurricane Ian last year, Captiva is in great shape with restaurants and bars open. George, the Captiva Sunset “groundsman” works so hard to keep the site immaculate. Thanks again Otmar for allowing us to stay in your beautiful home.

Another Fabulous Sunset Captiva Stay!

This is our first time staying in Omar's residence, but it was probably one of the nicest homes that we have rented in Sunset Captiva. You can immediately tell that he has taken great care to optimize the space. The renovations look REALLY nice. The layout was wonderful, and the 2 twin beds on the loft were clutch. He had everything we needed, beach towels, TONS of beach gear, TP, laundry and dishwashing supplies, and more. The owner was also very responsive and even left us a message once we arrived to ensure that everything was going ok. We will FOR SURE be renting from Omar again.

Great Property

The house is amazing and location is great! We don’t have a single negative thing to say, but two suggestions - the cooler is broken and you can’t transport it without putting in the wagon and then your chairs won’t fit and you have to carry them. Also, the bikes are nice to have but they all had flat tires and there’s no pump that we could find at the condo. A very nice guy at the island store filled them for us, but with all the limited stores and gas stations closed, we wouldn’t have been able to use them without this nice man who helped. Other then those two very minor things, we had a wonderful time and would definitely rent this house again!

Better than advertised. The host has recently renovated the property and the photos on Expedia/VRBO did not include the renovations. The host was very responsive to a concern I had regarding beach chairs and he provided new ones on the same day. The property is located very close to the beach (2 minute walk) and the marina (2 minute walk). The property included bikes, kayak, and a paddle board. It was off-season so some of the restaurants on the island were not open and some are under construction due to the hurricane from 9/22. But plenty of activities to do in the area.

Fantastic Beach House within short walk to beach and bay

This is the perfect getaway with plenty of space in the house and convenient to everything on Captiva. Omar is an extremely attentive owner who provides everything you need for a wonderful vacation. The kitchen is well equipped with extras like spices, tin foil, plastic wrap, trash bags, etc, It doesn’t stop there as when you go downstairs outside, there are paddle boards, kayak, beach chairs, umbrellas, beach toys and floats, and a couple nice porch swings for relaxing in the evening. This is one of the nicest beach house rentals and owners I have dealt with in my 25+ years vacationing in Florida! You will not be disappointed when you select this house rental and work with this owner! First class and 5 stars!

Stress-Free and Fun Vacation

This was my first time visiting Captiva Island and it definitely won’t be my last! My family and I loved it. We were beyond happy with our stay and Omar made the trip all the more special. The convenience of the homes location is PERFECT. Everything is a street or 2 down. A little mart, gift shops, restaurants, coffee and breakfast, rental area for activities. Everything you need is down the street. Let’s also not forget the most important part: The beach. The beach is so amazing as well, literally steps away from the house. The customer and restaurant service in Captiva is amazing. Everyone is so kind it makes our hearts warm. We tried all but one restaurant while we were at our stay which was The Shipyard (we didn’t have enough time to try) but I kid you not, there was not one place where we didn’t like the food or the service. Everything and everywhere was just perfect. You guys will feel right at home. The house also has everything you need so you don’t have to buy anything for the kitchen. The waffle maker and panini press was our favorite part. Everything was so clean and spotless, and the house smelled amazing walking in. Above all, Omar was super responsive, respectful and helpful, we couldn’t ask for a better host and property during our trip. We plan on returning very soon and staying at the same property as well.

Amazing place!!
