Cozy Cabin
The cabin is at the TOP of a mountain so the view is fabulous. Great sunrise and gorgeous leaf colors surround the cabin and the drive up to it.. Nicely furnished with period antiques. It is cozy so look at the total square feet and make sure this is right for you. Very nice host and Franklin and surrounding area are fun to explore.

Wonderful, secluded cabin
They did a good job instructing where everything was and how to use it. They had a binder full of interesting history about the cabin that we enjoyed. The road is very well kept up with to get to the top of the mountain. The fire place and supplied wood was wonderful. The kids loved having a fire each evening.

Fantastic Adventure
This rental is amazing! From its rustic charm to its wonderful history shared through pictures, articles and a summary written by the owner, you will be immersed in its authenticity! The sunrises from the hot tub, the birds swarming the bird feeders on the deck, the incredible Cracker Barrel decor, and the wonderful winding road to the top of the mountain are all just icing on the cake. I highly recommend for a romantic getaway. So quaint and warm. We will return and we can’t wait!

Very quiet and private escape!
We very much enjoyed our stay in this cabin! Linens were nice and well stocked. There were plenty of towels which was appreciated, especially with the hot tub. The weather was mild while we were here, but there were multiple fans and space heaters in addition to the regular heating and air. I think temperature regulation would be easy! The hot tub was clean and enjoyable. The fire place was a bonus that we didn’t expect to use, but it made for such cozy evenings. Wood and kindling was well stocked. The house felt incredibly private. The deck and the hot tub were very private. The road getting up the mountain is a bit scary. I was a bit uncomfortable with the narrow, gravel road but my husband said it was fine. I would have preferred an AWD vehicle, but our Toyota Camry handled it okay. We did not experience any rain or inclement weather during our stay. I don’t know how the road is in other conditions. The main bed is very firm. It was fine for us, but may not be to everyone’s liking. I would definitely stay again! This was such a great space for us to enjoy an anniversary weekend!

Quiet Remote Cabin
This cabin met all of our wildest expectations of Quiet -Undisturbed -relaxing beauty. Been a long time since Ive been in a place where the absolute only thing you can hear is NATURE . It was perfect for the 2 of us.

Dream honeymoon location
My wife and I spent our honeymoon at this cabin. It was everything we hoped for. The view was phenominal. The cabin offered the perfect rustic asthetic that we were seeking and was close to alot of fun activities, views, hiking trails, and waterfalls. The host was attentive and polite. We will be returning in the future. We most certainly recommend this place for anyone seeking a vacation get-away.

25 year Anniversary Getaway
This home was the perfect romantic and special place to celebrate with your spouse/partner. The location is remote with beautiful vistas, yet close to the highlands and Cashiers for evening meals. The story of Mammys cabin is written in a welcome guide in the cabin- a must to read during your stay. It’s a great place to unplug and focus on the moment. We opened our 25 year marriage time capsule here. Thank you for the new memories, Mammy.

was absolutely beautiful. I wanted to be secluded and away from the world and that’s exactly what this place gave me. It has a beautiful history and the place is absolutely breathtaking the mountains are gorgeous and the hot tub was perfect. The drive up is a little scary in a car (I was in a Nissan Sentra) and had no issues though but going down is a lot easier lol. It’s a beautiful place I loved it hope to stay again.

Truly a ‘Getaway’
The drive up the mountain to the cabin is definitely “off the beaten path,” but the roads are well maintained and manageable. The cabin itself is older and rustic but pleasant, and the porch view was stunning. Towns and hiking trails were at least 20-25 minutes from the cabin, some slightly further, but it never seemed like a long drive.

Wonderful stay in a delightful cabin!
Mammy’s Cabin was perfect for a long weekend away from the city. The cabin is rich in history and bursting with charm! We loved reading the story of how Mammy’s Cabin came to be- and finding our own connections along the way! The kitchen is well stocked, bed is comfy, and the views are spectacular! The hot tub was perfect after a day of hiking. We enjoyed cooking, local restaurants, and nearby hikes! It was a great weekend and we hope to be back!

PERFECT Cozy Getaway
We absolutely loved our stay at Mammy's Cabin!!! This was such a great place to relax, unplug and enjoy the nature surrounding us. The adventure starts with the road up to the cabin, which was so fun to drive in our Jeep! If you're looking for the perfect "cabin in the woods" vibe, THIS IS IT.

The best cabin I have ever stayed at
This cabin is the perfect place to escape to. It was freezing cold out but warm and comfortable inside. Sleeping in the loft listening to the rain on the metal roof put me to sleep in a second. The view was incredible. It's a bit of a hike up the mountain but worth the drive. I believe the elevation is about 4000 feet. As long as you use a low gear and go slow it's a beautiful drive up. Thank you for sharing.

Cozy cabin in the mountains
This was exactly the place we were looking for! Perfect for two, but could have accommodated another two guests. Love that it is pet friendly! The views were incredible and it was so quiet and serene. Host was very responsive and helpful!!

A most wonderful getaway!
Nestled on the very top of the mountain- this truly is a rustic gem. If you are looking for tvs and an easy in and out- this is not the place. However, if you are interested in unplugging, spending time in the hot tup soaking in the view and playing board games by the fire- this is the place. We had a wonderful time.

Perfect True Cabin Experience
My husband and I celebrated our 2nd wedding anniversary here. It was quite possibly the cutest little cabin at the top of the mountain. It was a little slow getting up there, probably more than I accounted for to get up and down the mountain to go to town but it was worth it. One day we had bad weather and just cooked everything there and spent the day in our PJs enjoying the fireplace and watching movies and putting puzzles together. We explored the area the next day and the waterfalls were breathtaking and beautiful. We would love to come back to this little comfy cabin. It was mostly clean, with only a few suggestions, such as a clean sponge for each new guest because there is no dishwasher and the sponge left was kinda gross already. Really, besides that we had most of what we needed!

Mountain Top Refresh
Cabin was just what we craved. Quiet, nature, fireplace, proximity to hiking trails and…well who doesn’t love an outdoor hot tub! Glad we got there first time before dark and having 4-wheel drive while not completely necessary sure made the drives up & down more fun.

I'm not really sure how to rate this property because it was such a range of experiences. First of all, the property is remote can be tricky to get to the first time. We drove up in a VW on a rainy weekend and there were a few times that I was glad I could engage a lower gear on the rain-slick dirt switchbacks. It's a little scary coming up the first time (especially in the rain) but once you've been up to the cabin once, it's not as bad. The cabin itself is perfect for a couple or maybe even a small family, but I can't see it for more than that. 2 couples would struggle in this cabin if they weren't VERY close friends. The deck was lovely and we spent the most time out there just reading and enjoying the cool and the trees. The hot tub was fantastic and we used it every evening. The biggest issue we had with the cabin is that the fireplace is a disaster. The chimney has clearly not been cleaned in forever. There are signs all over the place saying not to adjust the flue - that it's perfectly set. But when we lit a fire in the fireplace it literally smoked us out of the cabin. We had to open all the doors and windows and go sit on the deck until it cleared out. My partner took a look up into the flue and the chimney and it was dripping with creosote and char. We would advise anyone who stays there to NOT use the fireplace unless you have proof it's been cleaned since the summer of 2023.
