lovely cottage with sea view in garden and forest

Disappointment

Upon arrival, we tried to go to the beach but the steps had been destroyed. The gazebo looked like it should be condemned. The water REAKED of sulfur so bad we didn’t even want to shower and I grew up with my family having a septic tank and well water. The view was nice and so was the location but the rest was nasty. I booked this location to have access to the beach and was very disappointed.

Peaceful and quiet

Out stay could not have been nicer. We were in search of a relaxing and “off the beaten path” destination and we found it! Kimberley is a wonderful hostess-available and responsive with the few questions we had and she provided everything we needed for a 3-day stay. The bed was comfy and provided a wake up view of the forest and waterway as did the living room and kitchen. Lots of windows! We felt like a part of nature as we looked out at the lovely gardens and dense forest! Whidbey island has lots of beaches and hiking trails and kayaking. Kimberley knows the island well and made great suggestions for our adventures. We would happily return to the cottage!

Stayed here with my wife and overall, it’s a solid spot with some great views and a really quiet atmosphere. The cottage is well set up and has everything you need, plus good WiFi if you’re working remotely.A few things to keep in mind: the shower and toilet are pretty small, especially if you’re a bigger person, and the queen bed felt a bit tight for us. My biggest disappointment was not being told ahead of time that the stairs to the water were out—I was looking forward to using the beach.

The view was amazing. There was no access to the private beach as advertised due to significant damage to the stairs. The hammock had weeds growing through it and the patio furniture was pretty moss covered. We did enjoy both the outdoor and indoor fireplaces which was lovely, however we were concerned there was no smoke detectors or fire extinguisher incase of an accident. Overall it was a nice stay with outstanding sunset views.

Secluded and Cozy Retreat

My husband and I spent a few days at this well-built and private cabin on Whidbey Island. We totally enjoyed the comfortable bed and cozy fires in the fireplace each night. We were close to excellent restaurants, but also made a few meals at home in the cabin. I would’ve appreciated some directions for the induction cooktop as well as more lighting in the kitchen area. We were also under the impression that the location was right on the beach and not on a cliff overlooking the beach, and would’ve enjoyed walking at low tide had it not been such a hike up and down. But all in all we totally enjoyed our stay.

Magical stay, so peaceful and perfect!

Thank you so much for a truly wonderful and peaceful experience. Your easy and responsive communication made booking and instruction so simple and effortless! Your cottage was magical! Sitting out on your beautiful deck, surrounded by pine trees, beautiful waters, watching the birds and even an eagle, outside fire lit, I lost track of time and found such joy in these moments! I could hear myself again. Exploring your special island with hikes and visits to quaint towns during the day, I couldn’t wait to return to your cottage to make a meal in your kitchen, which had absolutely everything I needed, and sit on the window bench with the glorious view outside. The inside fireplace and couch was so cozy, and the bed was perfectly heavenly! I can’t remember the last time I slept so well. Thank you for your touches of supplies to make a s’more, fragrant shower sachets, and supply of fresh water. It was the most glorious stay, can’t wait to visit again! This is truly a special stay! Thank you for sharing your lovely home.

Second time just as good

Second time we’ve stayed here. Once this summer when it was sunny and now this rainy fall. What a cozy sweet place in great spot with a wonderful view! Maybe the only downside is the sulfury tap/shower water from the well. There’s bottled water to use but the shower is maybe the only less than perfect thing here.

Romantic getaway

Great location on Whidbey: feels like you’re far from everything but most places but close to Langley and Freeland. The cottage is exactly as pictured and described. Loved the quiet wooded waterfront location, lovely deck with hammock and sunset views, and access to the beach. Inside, we enjoyed the wood burning fireplace and slept well on the comfy bed. Hostess responds quickly and is kind. We arrived to two vases of fresh flowers from her garden. Highly recommend

Beautiful views!

What a charming cottage with all the necessities and views to die for. Wonderful back deck with so many places to relax. The special touches including fresh flowers and coffee supplies was the icing on the cake. We will be back.

Beautiful Weekend Getaway

This comfortable and cozy cottage was the ideal place for a weekend getaway for two. It's perfectly situated looking west over the water; there are many windows, a lovely little deck and a hammock from which to enjoy the view. It's next to a larger house, but sited in such a way to create some privacy. We hope to be able to stay here again.

Perfect

This place was a great find. Very cute little cottage with beautiful views and sunsets. Host lives on site and responds quickly. Close to downtown Freeland and a few other charming towns. Not a family place as it's only a 1 bedroom but it would be great as a couples long weekend get away.

Whidbey Getaway

We enjoyed the view of the sound. Hammock and window seat were restful and renewing. Sitting out on the deck with fire pit was mesmerizing. Appreciated the bottled water to offset sulfur tap water. Great place to relax, read and sleep.
